[PERCY JACKSON]

The smell of the stables was the same,  hay and sweaty animals. It was wonderful. Percy didn't know why he enjoyed the smell so much. The first time he had come in contact with an equine beast was on his way to Las Vegas. That zebra had been in an atrocious cage that wasn't fit for his worst enemy, (Well, maybe his worst enemy) let along an animal. He was glad the camp kept their stables clean. So many memories about stables and horses. 
He walked down the center of the stable, stalls on either side of him. He stopped at the last one. It held a large black pegasus who looked like he was ready to take on the world.
Hey boss! Long time no see! Listen, I was thinking we should take a little spin around the camp? What do you say, boss? Percy grinned at Blackjack. 
I guess I could go for a jaunt around camp. He thought back to the horse. He opened the door to the stall and walked in, stroking the horses neck as he did so.

Metae had done her usual small routine before she usually headed to the stables were a silvery gray Pegasus was. She usually go and take the Pegasus for a fly. The hunter walked into the stables quietly going over to the silvery gray winged horse quietly before she blinked seeing Percy. She hadn't exactly met him before and was curious for a moment who he was. Though she didn't stray from where she was with the silver gray pegasus. She looked at him for a moment before she said"hello..."She said not sure what other kind of greeting she could give.

Percy looked up.
The voice that has spoken belonged to a pretty girl with blonde hair. He put on a smile and gave a small wave.
"Hey, you here for a ride as well?" he asked, grabbing a brush and using it on Blackjack's shoulders.
He noticed the horse the girl was standing next to, a gray pegasus who looked very anxious to get out into the sky.
"Oh, I'm Percy, by the way." he said hurriedly, pulling his hand out of the brush and holding it out to her. Sometimes forgot he didn't know everyone at Camp Half-Blood anymore. He didn't even live here anymore. That was a depressing thought.

Metae took notice that the gray horse was anxious to go out flying. She smiled some then looked to Percy " well its nice to meet you Percy "She said with a smile. She was quiet for a moment as she looked at Blackjack then looked to Percy again and said"my names Metae. Metae Winchester " She said smiling some. She watched then nodded"yeah I'm here for a ride I come everyday about this time " She said. She smiled and watched as he held the brush out to her. She took it smiling and began to brush the gray pegasus quietly . She then looked back to him for a moment.

He bit the inside of his cheek, not knowing what to say to this girl.
Annabeth was out for the day, doing something architecture-y. He had the whole morning to kill.
" Well, do you want to go flying with me? We could have a race around the camp." he suggested, it would be something to do and this girl looked pretty cool. And she flew every morning, that meant she had dedication. If he had to peg her parent he would say.... Zeus or Apollo, but then there was also something off about her. Something more. He couldn't put his finger on it, Annabeth would be able to.

Metae smiled some "yeah sure " She said petting the grey pegasus quietly. She smiled as she noticed her pegasus anxious to go out. "And your a..son of Poseidon right?"She asked looking at him as she remembered the name from what she could remember Thalia telling her some things. Some of them happened to be about the others like Jason and them. She somewhat enjoyed hearing about them. She looked at Percy for a moment smiling some. "I'm a daughter of Zeus though I'm apart of the Hunters " She said. She then let her impatient pegasus out before getting on the Pegasus back quietly.

A hunter, huh? And she was lowering herself to talk to him in the privacy of the stables? She must be new, otherwise she would be more like the other hunters: EW! Boys! Boys are lower life forms and deserve to be squished from existence. Well, maybe he could just make this race a quick one. He did not want to hear from Thalia later about how he had corrupted one of her hunters. NOT that that was what was going to happen. 

"Well, It is very nice to meet you. What do you say to a quick warm up flight then we will meet at the chariot starting line and make two loops around camp. First one back to the starting line wins?" Maybe when this was over he would ask her how Thalia was doing, he hadn't seen her in ages.

Metae could remember that the other Hunters didn't much like to talk to boys even as the way she was doing. She really didn't see the harm in talking to him. True though she wouldn't fall for a guy from what had happened to her past. She felt really she couldn't trust another guy but talking to them and racing that was different. She knew as long as she kept her vows to Artemis,it wouldn't hurt to talk to any boys within reason. Metae smiled some and nodded"yeah a warm up flight sounds good."She said as she looked to him before she had her pegasus walk outside the stable.

Percy jumped on Blackjack before he let him out of the stall. 

I'm ready, boss. We can take this puny hunter down. She is going down! You know what I mean, boss? Blackjack stamped his foot ready to go. Percy grinned as the horse spoke, always ready for a fight. Blackjack ran from the stables, streaming past the girl and her pegasus. They took off the instant they were out from under the room. Wings spread wide, the horse flapped them to get the altitude he wanted then soared on a warm current.

Metae didn't need to tell her pegasus to take off. The gray winged horse took off quickly into the air after Blackjack and d Percy. She he'd on quietly as they started to gain altitude. Soon they weren't far from Percy and Blackjack. She smiled some loving the feel of being in the air. The daughter of Zeus and hunter of Artemis looked down below taking in the sites like she usually did when she went flying and each time she enjoyed it. She looked up and over to Percy quietly for a moment and was sort of thrilled to do a race.

A few laps around the camp and Blackjack was all pumped up and ready to go, a fact he kept screaming in Percy's head. 
Come on, boss! Let's do this! WE can beat her! I'm ready!" he was very excited. 
Percy had blackjack hover over the canoe lake, at the pre-designated starting line.
"You ready for this race? Twice around the camp and then back to here." He grinned at her, excited to have the promise of a challenge. Well, he didn't know if it would be challenging. Would it? Racing pegasi was really just enjoyable. A challenge would be if she decided to throw in any dirty fighting, which sometimes hunters did when they were doing any sort of competition against boys. He knew from personal experience that hunters would do anything they could to get even with boys. Go figure. They all had to have dads to get here, why hate on boys? And why did they all decide they hated boys when they were 12. does anyone really know what they want when they are 12? He sure didn't, except Annabeth... well he just knew he wanted to be her friend then.

Metae soon joined Percy and Blackjack. Her pegasus was already anxious for the race and even if she couldn't speak to horses or understand them she knew well enough that her pegasus was ready to race and determined to win. Though she didn't like playing dirty she played fair. Metae smiled " yeah sounds good. You ready girl Metae said to the pegasus smiling some the pegasus response was a yes in her own way. Metae grinned before she figured she should play faur"hey Percy I know if you know the Hunters they don't really play fair... but I'm not like that I tend to play fair and not dirty so I thought I should tell you " She said.

Percy raised an eyebrow. This girl was going to play fair? Well good, that always made the game better.
"Fair and square. I'll count us down from three and we'll start on go. Ready?" He asked, readjusting his seat on Blackjack.
Oh, I'm ready, boss. I was born ready. I've been ready since before I was born![/b] He guessed Blackjack was ready.
He waited until Metae's pegasus was neck and neck with blackjack before starting the count down.
"Three... Two... One... GO!" He shouted and Blackjack stroked his wings through the air sending them shooting through the sky like a rocket.
