F is for Friends (Percy)

Jason was pretty excited about today. It wasn't a day that the portal was open but Percy was coming by water and who knows how else to Camp Half-blood. Jason waited on the beach, knowing that Percy would arrive from here. He was... having a bad week. It was hard seeing Piper these past nine months since they had broken up, but he was also glad that they did. He had made a lot of new friends at camp, maybe even some potential love interests too but... it was still weird considering everything they had gone through. Still, he was sure that they would be able to be good friends eventually. Just takes a lot of time.

He saw something up ahead on the horizon and moved to the edge of the water, shoes in hand, so he could step out into the splashing current. He didn't go too far, he still avoided water due to his and Percys dads having their tiffs every once in a while, but he couldn't deny that it felt nice, even if he was a tad terrified. "Percy? Perrrrccyyy?!" he called out, waving a hand dramatically.

There are some things in life that make everything else worth it. Jason Grace was one of those things. Percy normally went to Camp Half-Blood when the labyrinth opened up, leading other campers through as part of his job as ambassador. However, today was a special trip. Today he was just going to hang out with his friend.

After kissing Annabeth good bye this morning, he had jumped into the water on the beach of California. Using a skill he had recently master, Percy created a slipstream around himself, propelling his body through the water at incredible speeds. Being the son of the sea god gave you perks like that. By ten am he had already made his way through the Panama canal and was about 30 minutes away from Long Island Sound. He still thought of Camp Half-Blood as home, even though he lived in New Rome now. But the anticipation of seeing the camp again... it was kind of driving him crazy!

An eternity later Percy decided to come to the surface of the water, keeping it churning around him so he continued to shoot forward. He could just make out the shore, and on it... Jason. A smile split his face and he put on an extra burst of speed. After a moment Percy launched himself from the water, and landed right next to Jason (being incredibly impressed with his aim) and gathered up his friend in a bear hug. "Jason!" He said, feeling like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, just knowing he wasn't alone.

Jason wasn't crazy. There he was, rising the waves like the psychopath he was. He shook his head, taking off his glasses, cleaning them, and tossing them back on his face just in time to see Percy pick up speed. He launched from the water, but Jason didn't take a step back. He was used to Percy Jackson showing off. Suddenly he was in Percys arms and Jason hugged him right back. That hug would probably crush any other demi-gods bones, but they were used to it. "Perc, hey, are you taller?" he joked, clapping him hard on the back before pulling away, keeping both hands firmly on Percy's shoulders. "It's been way too long. How are things? How's Annabeth? How's Camp Jupiter? Reyna? Hazel? Frank? Gwen?" he finally stopped.

Being clapped on the back by Jason... that had to be one of the best feelings ever. Just knowing his bro was here, ready to fight the world with him, or eat an entire pizza, or do the crazy stunts that they came up with together. ”Taller? Dude, I think you just got shorter!” he teased, ruffling Jason’s perfect hair. Jason started streaming of questions and names, obviously excited.
”Uh, good, great, good, fine, adorable, awesome, good. That was all of the questions right?” he ticked them off on his fingers grinning. ”But seriously, we are all good. How are things here? Anything new on the Jason Front?” He asked as he put his arm around Jason’s shoulders and started walking toward camp.
