Andi watched with limited satisfaction as the arrow hit the bullseye. Same result every time, as it had been for years now. Andi was proud of her archery skills and her championships that she won back home in New England. She was glad that this was the gift she got from her dear old dad. However, despite the perfect shot, she felt once again that something was missing. Something had been missing from her life for some time. Was this it for her? Shooting arrows at Camp Half-Blood until she was old enough to leave the camp for good? And then what? She went back home, maybe did a few more competitions? It would probably earn her enough money to live comfortably, being a pro archer, but... there had to be something more for Andi. Andi sighed as she stepped over to pull the arrow out of the target and examine it. Her arrows were wearing down yet again. She would have to go to the Forge later that day to get some new ones made. She made quite a few of those trips. For the time being, she stepped over and sat among some of her half-siblings in the audience area. She opened her canteen and sipped her water, more because of the warm day as opposed to breaking a sweat shooting arrows. She didn't do that either anymore. As she took another sip, she turned as someone approached. Carter Petal Duncan

While her hammer was in the shop, aka, being repaired down in the forges, she decided to take the time to enhance her archery skills. Of course, being a daughter of Apollo she was a fair archer naturally, but she couldn’t really remember the last time she actually touched a bow. Maybe it was because she didn’t like feeling like everyone else. She liked being different. She liked wielding her heavy weapon. She liked the feeling of being able to swing something and know exactly where it was going to hit. With archery, there was always the chance it wouldn’t hit, and that played wrong with her anxiety.
She was out on the fields today with her bow that she kept under her bed. It was a standard issue bow, nothing fancy, but it did the trick. And her arrows were ones she found in the overstock in the weapon closet. She couldn’t remember ever asking for custom ones made. She didn’t need them. After an hour or so of getting her alignment back, she was hitting the target consistently and decided to take a few minutes to rest before she lengthed her distance. Sitting on the stands, Carter drank from her water and watched over the arena. Andi approached and Carter approached her, speaking softly as she usually did, “Your aim is great.” she said with a nod. Of course it was, she was a daughter of Apollo. None of them were bad at hitting the mark. “It really seems like you’ve got your bow to be an extension of your arm.” she added.

Andi was asexual, and had turned away from any kind of romantic love. As for platonic, well... she had a few friends here and there. She guessed some kind of drifted away from her for being two serious. She couldn't help it. She really didn't get most jokes, especially the lame ones the Hermes kids pulled. But familial love was different, and that's where her half-siblings came in. Andi had grown really fond of them, and enjoyed her time with them. Among them was Carter. She liked Carter a good deal. The girl was soft-spoken, kind, and very bright. Andi always felt at ease around her. So when Carter spoke to her, Andi turned and gave a small smile. "Eh, just been doing it for a long time, a good while before I found out who our dad was. It's just sort of my thing... keeps my mind off the negative stuff and all, you know?" She then gave another smile. "If you'd ever like some pointers, let me know. I mean, not saying you're bad at archery, but... well it's nice to help a sister out where I can. Anyway, how's your day been since we left the cabin this morning? Any drama?"Carter Petal Duncan
