Sitting on the front steps of the Big House, Annabeth couldn't help but feel a tad overwhelmed. She had grown up here, given her life to this place, and now she lived somewhere else. Somewhere that used to be enemy territory. She had taken the portal through to camp with Percy last night, in order for him to do some diplomatic mission along with Reyna and Frank. She could have come along, but she wasn't one of the Ambassadors. She wasn't in charge of anything now, except for Percy.

She was a student, and happy to be. But she wanted to come see the camp, bask in the memories a little bit even if it was stressing her out a little bit. She looked around, seeing some kids that she didn't even recognize. Apparently Percy had a sister who had come out of the wood works, so did Nico. She didn't care to judge the Gods for their oath breaking and silly promises right now.

She was too busy taking in the view of her old home, her old home that felt so unfamiliar now...

Keira was making her way towards the big house quietly for something she wouldn't remember once she made it there though. Which tended to happen sometimes. As she made to the steps but stopped at the first step seeing Annabeth. She blinked and then didn't quite remember why she was there so she just shrugged and continued up the steps before approaching Annabeth "hi I'm Keira "She said introducing herself with a slight bit of hesitance.

Annabeth looked up as someone addressed her, snapping out of her little nostalgic trip into the past and slowly working her way to standing. "Keira, daughter of Hades, right? I'm Annabeth," she said, smiling confidently. She felt comfortable in this moment, meeting new people who belonged in the Greek camp. Even greeting them on the steps of the Big House made her feel even more comfortable. She felt calm, seeing the way that her body just shifted into Cabin Leader mode like that. It also made her a little sad. She shook it off, "new to camp, then?" she asked the younger girl.

Keira watched as she got up quietly. She for a moment had started to wonder why she was at the big house again. Though when Annabella spoke she shook the thought from her mind and adjusted her jacket a little over her arm that had the scar. She could say at times the jacket did rub her scar the wrong way or something and would often adjust it. She looked at her"yeah....how'd you know?"she asked then said."oh and nice to meet you "she said. She then once again adjusted her jacket on the same arm. It seemed her scar was bothering her today but she wouldn't bother to tell anyone. Keira then looked at Annabeth"yeah...I'm new to camp...well sorta.."She said.

"Awe, I literally just asked Chiron about the new campers," she said, explaining how she knew who the girl was. Annabeth also had an intense memory, the ability to remember everything and anything she saw, but that wasn't worth mentioning just yet. She had seen the girls photograph in the new camp register, a new thing at camp. Annabeth thought it was pretty smart. She smiled, "Sort of?" Annabeth asked. She also caught sight of the girl messing with her jacket multiple times, but decided not to question it. Maybe it was just a nervous tick.

"Oh well that makes sense ...well I mean more sense " She said . She seemed to readjust her jacket for maybe the fifth time before she looked back to Annabeth"yeah .....sort of...I'm sort of new " She said and was quiet for a long moment debating on weither or not she should say the next words that would leave her mouth. After a long stretch of silence she spoke again all the while messing the her jacket once again as she spoke"I  'm sorta new because when I came here I wasn't actually here I mean I was pretty much uncouncious for about a month is what I was told...."Keira said but didn't go into details unless she was asked to."that's why I'm sorta new here..."She said.

Annabeth nodded as the girl explained where the 'kind of' came in. "That's been known to happen. Is that why you keep adjusting your clothes? Battle scars, maybe?" Annabeth was not normally one to pry, but the girl had stuck around hadn't she? Maybe she just needed someone to talk to, a friend of sorts. It was strange to think that she had missed everything that had happened the last seven years at camp. The Golden Fleece, the battle in Manhattan the fight with the Romans. This girl was coming into a much better world, but she clearly had faced her own struggles as well.

Keira looked at her quietly as she mentioned battle scars. She bit her lip slightly before she said " well um it's not really a battle scar... it s more well just a scar." She said before she pulled at her jacket again before stopping. She thought for a moment back to when her scar would bother her and it's never bothered her this much. Quietly she moved her jacket off not caring at the moment if Annabeth had seen she pretty much knew she has a scar now but not how big it was. Keira took her jacket off at one side and looked at her arm seeing it a bit red around the scar. She blinked and sighed before she looked at it for a moment before she looked to Annabeth. The scar started at the middle of her arm and up her shoulder before going down her back. And looked somewhat like a lion had attacked her but it wasn't. "I'll get it checked later " She mumbled to herself.

Annabeth waited as Kiera revealed her scar. She had seen things like that before, and much worse, but it was still jarring to see it on someone so young. Annabeth shook her head, folding her arms firmly across her chest. "No, we should get it looked at right now. Did you not show anyone when you first got here?" surely the Apollo kids would have checked for the wound? But, there could be reasons why they didn't get around to taking off the girls jacket. The scar didn't look nearly as bad as Annabeth knew it would when first inflicted, but it still wasn't a pretty sight.

Keira blinked and looked to Annabeth."well....um if you mean when I first got to camp.....well when I came to camp I was uncouncious for a month from this scar.... so I don't think I've gotten it checked out since we'll when I came to and they said I could go.."Keira said blinking quietly. She then said " though it's never bothered me this much before either.."the daughter of Hades admitted. "And right now?"She asked looking at her with her dark eyes. She then knew she meant right now and only put her jacket on again before she nodded quietly. Though she was a bit hesitant about going to get it checked out.

Annabeth shook her head. No, the person who probably checked Kiera in saw it and didn't think anything of it. People made mistakes like that all the time. Though, it was odd that the scar was bothering her right now more than before. Annabeth reached behind her to open the Big House door, gesturing for Kiera to go in first.

Once in the infirmary, Annabeth gestured for Kiera to sit on one of the beds, "take off the jacket, please," sure she sounded a tad serious and bossy, but she didn't like when anyone was in trouble or pain, and she wanted to take a closer look at this herself.

(in your next post can you describe the scar a little more so I know what Annabeth is seeing? Coloring, what parts are worse, any traces of magic etc.)

Keira followed Annabeth quietly into the infirmary where she sat down quietly. She blinked looking at Annabeth when she said,a bit serious and bossy, for her to take her jacket off. Keira quietly peeled her jacket off and set it to the side. The scar now showing. The scar in some places was a bit red and other places it was a the color a scar would be. Though in one area where the scar was on her shoulder going down her back was a bright red color around it and the scar itself was somewhat reddish as well. There were small slight traces of magic evident in where the scar wasn't too bad though.

Annabeth assessed the damage, raising an eyebrow as she did so. Finally, she sighed, taking a few steps to the closet and pulling out some herbs and medicines. "Okay, this first one might sting," she said, gently lifting the salve onto her fingers and touching the scar, avoiding the shoulder. "Now, are you going to tell me how this happened?" Annabeth felt a slight pang in her chest for a moment and had to pause what she was doing, but returned swiftly to the task. She felt sad, that someone so young had such a scar.

But, then again, Annabeth had similar ones at that age.

Keira sat quietly as Annabeth looked at her scar. She wasn't sure why it was bothering her so much. Though she blinked hearing Annabeth ' s words. She gave a small nod. Though as th salve was put on she gritted her teeth at the stinging pain. Not long after she let out a small sigh. She heard Annabeth ask if she was going to tell her how it happened and she sighed before she said"i.... don't usually like to talk about it...but I guess I'll tell you " she said before she continued." After my mother died I went through at least seven different foster families I think...all of which died in some way " she said the last part quietly."though the seventh one was a monster in disguise. ...though I didn't know at the time. I was only getting ready to go to a friends house before being caught off guard by her and she managed to do this to me... I ran and passed out and woke up a month later here in the infirmary "She said quietly " that's what happened " she said quietly.

Annabeth listened to the story, completely focused on her words and all medicating the scar before her as she listened. Seven foster families, all dead because she had lived with them? That must have been terrible, not to mention the loss of her own mother. Annabeth kept a firm grip on her emotions, though, and a straight face. This wasn't the time to get all motherly on this girl. "Kiera... I'm so sorry," she said, sincerity dripping from her words. She didn't want this girl to feel like she was alone in this, plenty of kids has horrible pasts. Though, this was was particularly brutal. "At least you're here at Camp. You'll be safe here," Annabeth had said that to so many people, and to some people that hadn't ended up being true... but things were different now. They had the Romans.
