olden days [open at camp half blood]

Kiera was quiet for a long time. A somewhat sad expression crossing the young girl's face. She closed her eyes remembering all those families that had taken her in and cared for her then her thoughts drifted to her mother and she had to push the thought away quietly. She didn't really want to break down into tears in front of Annabeth, who she only just met.

"It...fine I've learned to not let it get to me.... I don't much like bringing my past up either " She said quietly. Kiera just watched as she applied some medicine to her scar. She then said"y each so far I've felt save her at camp...thanks for pointing that out though " she said looking at Annabeth. She didn't know much else to say .

[annabeth chase]

Annabeth simply nodded with a soft smile as the girl mentioned not wanting to talk of her past. "I understand. The past is messy. Let's talk about your future," she said, capping the medicine lid and putting it back in the cabinet. She walked back over to Keira and sat on the bed opposite her. "What are you hoping to get out of camp? Combat training, life skills?" a lot of kids didn't really have a plan, and it would be totally fine if this girl didn't either. Annabeth didn't have one except to become an architect somehow. And now she had New Rome and Trinity.

Kiera blinked and nodded slowly."yeah that sounds like a plan..."She said quietly . She watched her put the medicine lid back on and put it up before returning to her. She listed quietly as she asked what she though she would get out of camp.Kiera hadn't really though about it before. She was quiet for a long moment."I guess what I'm to get out of camp is in a way I guess ...Is to just start over...forget my past,make friends,have somewhat of a family,while also learning how to defend myself when I finally go back out of camp but also learning some life skills " Kiera said quietly she had to think about it for a moment but it did come to her.

[annabeth chase]

Annabeth nodded slowly as Kiera went on to explain what she wanted out of camp. They were good goals, and similar to the goals that every new camper had. To forget their past, to make friends, find a family, learning about fighting and defending yourselves. "Those are all good things to want, Kiera," Annabeth said, her smile waning into a slightly more relaxed, serious nature as she pondered how she had gained those things. She grew closer to her family outside of camp, but Camp Half Blood was her family, and always would be. "I think you'll love it here," she added.

Keira was quiet again for a moment. She really did want to forget her past but it was hard to though she was trying her best she could at reaching her said goals. She listened as Annabeth saif they were good goals and she smiled a tiny bit. She then remained quiet as her thoughts drifted off. She didn't really have anywhere to go outside of camp let alone someone to call family. As far as she knew this would be her home with no where outside camp to go. She looked to Annabeth again when she spoke about how she would live it here and she just gave a small nod " i hope I will"

Annabeth gave another nod, a nod of finality. "Hey, listen. I don't live here at Camp, I live in New Rome. It's the City attached to Camp Jupiter. You'll learn about it, trust me," she said, reaching down to clasp her bag and slip it over her shoulder. "If you ever need anything though I'm easy to find. It really was lovely to meet you. Keep an eye on that scar. In fact, I'll be checking in on you again," she said, giving the girl a little squeeze on the un-scarred shoulder before heading out the door.
