Till my Brain Falls Out (Complete)

[PERCY JACKSON]

"The art of surfing  was first described in 1769. Called he'enalu by the Hawaiian people, it was described by James Banks who rode on the HMS Endeavor under captain James Cook." Or James Hook... "Essential to Polynesian culture even before there was an European influence, surfing has spanned the centuries and has continued to influence people even today."
"Ugh!" Percy said as he put both his hands on head, as if he could stop his brain from hurting. "How can they make surfing boring!" exasperated his hands flew in the air and his voice went a few decibels louder than the silent required by the library at Trinity College. 

"Shh!" the librarian chastised. 

Percy just slumped down in his seat, he needed to get out of here. Needed to move, to do something, not sit here are read books about surfing. Surfing needed to be experienced anyway. He slammed the book closed, slammed very softly so as to not offend the sensitive ears of the angry librarian. Then he  stood up to leave the library.

What would Annabeth say?

Another sign emanated from Percy. He had only just sat down, he looked at his watch, 3 minutes ago. He could do... 15 minutes. Yeah, 15 minutes would be okay. 
Sitting back down in his seat he re-opened the book, propping his elbow on the table so he could rest his head on his hand. 
14 minutes.

Annabeth had just gotten out her third class of the day and she still had two more to go. Percy was right, New Rome and Trinity College were both amazing places. They were blessed to be alive and to be there. Annabeth had an hour or so break in between these classes so, of course, she made her way to the library.

The library was something of a miracle to Annabeth. Shelf after shelf of hundreds of books pertaining to both things Demi-God and things Mortal. She couldn't deny that she wished Camp Half-Blood was a little more adult friendly. Camp had always been so... negative about Demi-Gods even living that long. Even though that was true, Annabeth felt it was a tad too severe for her taste.

She hurried moved to her favorite corner of the library, not expecting to find Percy there today. She didn't ask him to meet her after al-"Percy," her voice was shocked and a tad skeptical as she saw her boyfriend leaning over a book. She snapped out of the shock and moved to him, dropping her backpack gently on the ground before leaning around him to kiss his cheek. "Hey there stranger."

Percy started, bringing his face up from the book he had fallen asleep on. He looked around groggily for a moment then his eyes fell on Annabeth. He hurriedly wiped the drool from his cheek. 
"Annabeth! Hey!" He wasn't sure why, but he was embarrassed about be caught sleeping while trying to study, especially when the one who caught him was Annabeth. 
He gave a sigh as he realized that he had fallen asleep. He remembered reading something about... surfing. 
"What are you... doing here? He asked the question, and realized after a few moments that was a silly question, he was in the library and in her favorite spot. Of course she was here.

Annabeth couldn't help but smile as Percy wiped the drool off his face and looked up at her, startled. She moved around him to sit in the chair beside him. "Oh, you know. I just heard a rumor that there was a handsome idiot sleeping at my favorite table," she started, acting oh-so-innocent as she leaned toward him, reaching a hand out to gently tap his chin, "so I decided to come see what all the fuss was about," she leaned in closer as if she was going to kiss him and lowered her voice, "obviously they didn't get a closer look." Then she laughed, leaning back as she did so.

Percy leaned in to kiss her thinking he had picked the right place to study. Then she pulled away and made that comment. 
"Uh... what?" He raised an eyebrow and tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "Are you saying that the man you are dating is not attractive? Really Annabeth, I thought you had better taste." He tisked while shaking his head. "Come on, Wise-Girl. Admit it, you think I'm gorgeous." He pointed his finger at her, holding it close to her face. He thought back on the last few years of his life, thankful that he was able to be here to tease with Annabeth.

Annabeth loved the fact that Percy totally fell for her little trick. His response, however, was rather clever on his part. Not that she would admit that out loud. She raised an eyebrow at him as he called her out on her 'good taste' and slightly shook her head as he told her to admit his 'gorgeousness'.


She held her ground for a moment before reaching up to push his hand aside, leaning back in again, "fine. You caught me," she said, "you're gorgeous," and then her lips met his briefly before she pulled away a little again. "So, how was the nap?"

Percy was amazed at how quickly she could distract him. Her lips brushed his and he quickly forgot all of that stupid surfing history. He had worked so hard to learn that, but he had worked harder to keep his relationship with Annabeth. 
"Uh... nap? Oh yeah, it was good. But I was trying to study. Guess I am not good at it." He sighed and put his arm around her waist, pulling her a little closer to him. He also pulled the book closer.
"This stupid, who even wants to read about the history of surfing!" He sighed and dropped his head to the table.

"You know... you did choose surfing as your subject of study Seaweed Brain," she said, a light chuckle on her voice. "I think school in general is just an issue for you..." Annabeth leaned forward again, keeping eye contact with him as she reached over to his book and slowly closed it. "Maybe you just need to take your mind off things for a bit- for a while," she said, biting her lip slightly as she moved closer to kiss him again.

After a minute... or something, she had her hands wrapped around his neck and was pulling away from the kiss in order to look into his eyes. "I miss you. I still have two more classes today," she groaned, pouting a little. All she wanted to do was go back to the house with her adorkable boyfriend, curl up on the couch, and watch crime solving tv shows. Or Grimm, which was a supernatural crime solving show.

"I know, but what else am I supposed to do?" He said shrugging. He had thought about what else he could do, and he had options. But he really wanted to help the people of Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood, he wanted to do this ambassador stuff well, and he thought that school would be a good place to learn how to do that. He had originally just been undeclared. And he had not told Annabeth that he had decided to do something that was... well, serious. He kind of wanted to surprise he with it.

Percy grinned at Annabeth's comments. A while sounded nice. But Annabeth would be unhappy if she missed class, no matter how much she said she wanted to. He wished he could just go with her to class, stay with her all the time. Yes, he needed time to himself, and so did she. But not to much time alone. Time together was always better. He pulled her in for another kiss, his hands behind her back. He let himself enjoy her against him, enjoy her warmth, the smell of her slight perfume. She was everything he had ever wanted.

"Excuse me, you two, but this is a library!" The librarian hissed at them, a hint of disgust in her voice as if she could not believe these two would desecrate her library with their affection.

Suddenly, the librarians voice caused Annabeth to pull away from Percy rather swiftly. She looked up at the woman, who she had seen many times, and gave a small, slightly awkward wave. "Sorry Miss Morris. We were just... distracted," she had to try incredibly hard to keep a straight face before the librarian scoffed a little, "well, go find somewhere more fitting Ms. Chase," she said with a firm nod before shuffling away.

Annabeth turned to Percy with a wicked little grin, "you know even a year ago I wouldn't be caught dead doing something like this. You must have traits of Venus in you," okay, now Annabeths hormones were just getting out of hand. She kissed him one more time before pushing completely away from him, standing up, "food, maybe?"

A trait of Venus? Well he guessed that was better than Aphrodite. 
"Maybe I do... and you have fallen for my masculine wiles." He said softly, running a hand through his hair and giving her a smoulder. "You have been caught in my trap and now!" He kissed her quickly and intensely once more. "Now you can't get out, you're stuck with me." 

He stood up, grabbing his book and stuffing it in his backpack, then he took Annabeth's hand. 
"I am always up for food, especially food with you, and double especially blue food with you." He picked up her bag as well, trying not to groan as he hefted the 50+ pound bag onto his back.

Annabeth gently punched him in the arm as he spoke of his 'masculine wiles', even though the smolder made her knees a little weak. She let him kiss her again, disappointed when he pulled away. "Well, as long as I'm stuck with you I may as well make the best of it," she said, leaning forward to put her forehead to his for a short moment before pulling back, allowing him to get ready to leave.

She stood, reaching down to grab her bag but Percy got to it first. She smiled, "blue food... I'm sure we could whip something up. Back to the house or should we go out somewhere?" there weren't a ton of restaurants in New Rome, but there was enough to have a variety.

He smirked at her as he grabbed her bag before she could. 
"We could make something... then we might not get as many strange looks as asking for blue food." he took her hand as they walked out of the library.
"but what to make.. that is the real question." he brought her hand closer and pulled her toward him, spinning her into his chest. "And I just thought of another perk to going home. No one to tell us to behave." he kissed her nose quickly then spun her back out.

"Yeah, no one except for me," Annabeth joked, rolling her eyes as Percy spun her out. She made sure they stayed quiet as they made their way out of the library, not wanting to cause any more disturbance than she already had. Once outside, Annabeth held her hand out against the sunlight. "Geez, Apollo needs to take a vacation. It's been burning hot the past three weeks," in fact, it had been hot a lot longer than that, but this summer seemed to be particularly worse than the others. the paranoid part of Annabeth wanted to investigate some paranormal activity, but it was probably nothing.

[PERCY JACKSON]

"We're just used to California coast weather where it is a balmy 72 in the afternoon. Seriously, we are getting spoiled over there." He reassured her. She was probably jumping to the worst conclusions. She did that. But when monsters were nearly constantly attacking you for most of your life... yeah she could jump to conclusions if she wanted to. It was hard for him to get used to being relatively safe all of the time. New Rome was a safe haven for all demi-gods, whether they were 2 or 92. Or maybe it wasn't as hard as he thought it was, he just assumed that everything would work out. So far, that is how it worked. Prophecy said he was going to die, Percy and friends go out and save the world, Percy doesn't die. Life story.
