Summer Smash Dance Party! (IC Event)

As July begins to come to a close, Camp Half-Blood is throwing an end of the summer 'Summer Smash Dance Party' on the beach. Romans and Greeks alike are invited. The party starts at dusk!

Piper had been looking forward to the party for weeks now, as it was a chance to be reunited with her Roman friends. With meetings, quests, and individual summer plans, it had been nearly impossible to gather all her friends in one place. However, the end-of-summer bash seemed to be a solution to her problems. Unfortunately, there was just one thing in her way.

Or rather, one person in her way. Nico, for whatever reason, had decided that he would sit this thing out. When Piper had caught wind of this, she had immediately decided that he would be going, whether he liked it or not. Although they didn't have the closest relationship, she still counted him as one of her friends. And she would not be leaving him behind. Besides, a bit of social interaction would be good for the boy. Piper had sensed that Nico still wasn't very comfortable at Camp, and she wanted to prove that he was indeed welcome here.

And that was why she was here, at the edge of the beach, coaxing Nico forwards, rather than at the very end, where the party was taking place. "C'mon, Nico, it'll be fun, I swear," Piper said for perhaps the fiftieth time that afternoon. It had taken her nearly an hour to get him this far, and she did not plan on giving up anytime soon, not when they were so close. "The Romans were invited, so Reyna should be there. And Hazel." Piper was not above using Nico's sister to guilt trip him. "Plus, there'll be food." If there was anything living on the Argo II had taught her, it was that food was a very powerful motivator for teenage boys.

Nico had heard about the part going on at the beach days before and didn't plan to go at all. In fact Keira hadn't wanted to go either but he had told her she needed to try and make some friends so he had made her go though after he had done so, word spread that he wasn't going. Only then Nico knew what was going to happen and inwardly he groaned because he knew Piper would he and make him go. Which brought him to where they were now.

Nico hadn't wanted to leave the cabin at all to avoid the party but for the past hour Piper had somehow managed to get Nico to get to the beach. He frowned a little at the idea of even somehow getting here by Piper.

"Yeah I've heard that before Piper and let me tell you I didn't have much fun "Nico responded a bit coldly which was really unintionally. Though it sorta disappated when he heard the Romans had been invited which meant Hazel would be there. He sighed that was a guilt trip to get him to go which somehow worked but he didn't say anything to it. Though when she mentioned food he just frowned " Piper enough jeez"he said."you only had to say Hazel was going he grumbled slightly his dark eyes looking at Piper.

"Come to the dance party."[/b] she said. "It'll be fun!"[/b] she said. But here he was, alone... at the dance party. For some reason Annabeth couldn't come with him to the party, she had to meet him here. Why, he didn't know, maybe it was a girl thing. Maybe he was glad he didn't know. Whatever the reason, he did not want to be here alone on his birthday. August 22, he should be eating blue cake and maybe snuggling with Annabeth. 

Sighing he looked around. He was here, so he might as well at least try to have a good time. The music was loud and the sun was on it's way down the horizon, streaking the sky orange and red. It reflected off of the waves giving the ocean a similar hue. He loved the many different colors the ocean took on, it was so versatile. As he walked through the crowd he saw two familiar faces, thankfully ones he wanted to see.

"Piper! Nico!" he waved at them as he strode more quickly toward their stationary spot at the back of the mass of people.

Piper brightened when Nico finally gave in. "Well, if I'd known that, I'd have mentioned her first." Although now that she thought about it, it made sense that Hazel would be the only reason he would come. Now Piper just had to hope that Hazel didn't let her down and actually showed up although she couldn't see any reason why the daughter of Hades wouldn't come.

As she craned her neck, searching for Hazel, a voice broke her concentration. Piper whirled around at the familiar voice and broke out into a grin. "Percy!" Of course, she was happy to see one of her best friends, but part of her happiness also stemmed from the fact that someone else had spotted Nico. Now he wouldn't be able to escape the party as easily.

When they finally were finally close enough that they didn't have to shout, Piper positioned herself so that Nico was in between her and Percy. Was it subtle? Probably not. Nevertheless, Piper barreled along, "It's been forever! How've you been?"

When he was close enough that the music was no longer louder than their voices he stopped. Piper possitioned herself right behind Nico so that he was inbetween her and Percy. Nico probably really didn't want to be here. He could understand what Piper was doing. Keep Nico between friends, it will be harder for him to leave. Percy could play along with that. 

"I've been great! Just doing the school think in New Rome with Annabeth. What about you two? You both look great!" His voice was louder than usual, to be heard over the music, but he didn't have to yell. 

As he spoke he looked around once again for Annabeth. She said she was coming... why wasn't she here?

Adromeda the minute she had heard there was a party,there was no doubt she would be there. She was at the moment was choosing her outfit. Quietly she chose a tank top with a wavy design to it that was a sea blue color and a pair of shorts and flip flops,cause why not. Once the sixteen year old daughter of Poseidon got dressed,she pulled her blue hair which did show some of her dark brown hair. Really her hair had more brown the blue it, so when she pulled it up her hair would look completely brown but have what would look like highlights of blue in it. She smiled as she put her hair in a ponytail and then ran out the cabin with a excited smile. The minute she made it to the beach she looked around. She loved the loud music and just really the whole party itself. Quietly she looked around with her blue green eyes.

Annabeth was normally excellent at keeping secrets, but it was hard to keep them from Percy. Hence why she had been avoiding him most of the day. She had worked closely with friends at Camp Half Blood to plan this Summer party, though Percy didn't know she had any part in it. Why? Because it was actually a surprise birthday party for him!

She had just finished getting ready, letting Percy go ahead of her to get a feel for the event before she announced what it really was. She wore a grey dress that matched her eyes with a simple lace gray headband in her curly hair. She arrived at the edge of the beach party, watching Percy converse with the others for a moment. She could see the look in his eyes, the way he was darting them about. He was looking for her.

She took the necessary steps forward to come into the late, entering the party atmosphere. She moved toward Percy, a small smile on her face. "Hey there, stranger." Her voice was low when she reached him with her own signature hint of humor.
