friends , Being the hearty kid he is, it was never challenging to approach the unfamiliar. Albeit his short temper and reluctance to enter a more meaningful relationship has led to awkward cutting off of ties. The more mousy may find him intimidating. When he isn't modeling his prized teeth, his resting face seems to be that of a fixed scowl. Being the son of Ares does not ease some people's misconceptions. Few have caught wind of his tendency to rush to his fists when feeling vulnerable, leaving them uncertain. Daniel as a friend, well, where the two stand will almost always been undefined, unless someone brings it up. He's friendly with many, but he has no one he considers a true, or close friend. It takes a persistent soul, as Haven would likely change the topic when asking just where exactly the duo stand.

enemies , Daniel has a knack for crawling under people's skin when he wants to (of course unintentionally at times too.) Sure, he starts out sweet as can be, but he's quick to turn sour. Sadly, most arguments end in Daniel punching something, or someone. Growing up, it was the only way he knew to manage rage. Many sore "ex" friends could fall into this category. If he looses interest, chances are he'll ditch you at the next exit. He definitely has a lot of frenemies - rivalry is a huge repeating occurrence for Daniel. Particularly when it comes to sparring. The boy can get rather competitive, and is often a sore loser!

lovers , Haven has never once been in a relationship, contrary to his open flirting and overall player-esque aura. Daniel does not hide his sexuality. This isn't to say he's overbearing on every male and female in camp. If he finds them attractive, he'll blatantly relay the message. However, if they express discomfort through words or body language from his forward remarks, he'll merrily back off. This is a trying position to fill, if one so has their eyes on it. Even though he is always seemingly pursuing somebody, he's more in it for the sport. He thrives from the chase. Once he has someone within his grasp, he backs off. Likely bored with the person/relationship. Daniel claims to need someone who can keep him on his toes. He does not entertain the thought of having multiple partners at once, and actually yearns for a substantial, thriving, and long relationship. Not only does he need someone who doesn't lull him to sleep whenever they're together, but it does take someone who be willing to pick away at his walls. For any relationship to work, there needs to be mutual dependence, something Daniel denies due to his hesitation to truly let someone in.

OK OK. So, Masin is my 17 year old daughter of Zeus and we have to plot these two. She is crazy, in a way. She's an elitist, she stands for justice, and she basically wants to be the President. I think these two would be incredibly fun to thread... I just can't decide what there past together would be like! I can totally see them as frenemies, acting like friends only when it is beneficial to them. Part of me also thinks they could be romantic at some point, but I'm still not sure how that would work, either! She's pretty merciless and authoritative... ah, what are your thoughts here?

Aw, Finley! Finley is a son of Mars, so we're... kind of brothers? Anyway, his twin sister @danielle, is one of your cabin mates! Part of me thinks it would be cool if Danielle kind of became close to Daniel since her own brother wasn't around, but we'd have to see what Caila thinks of that. Anyway, I think Fin and Daniel would have a love/hate relationship. Probably fighting and sparring a lot once they got to know each other. Or even before they got to know each other XD

@james:
James is the same age as Daniel, he's a son of Hephaestus. Honestly? he's a big goof ball and a total sweetheart. Part of me thinks that these two could actually be really good friends! James is incredibly forgiving and gracious. He's been pining after the same girl for years, maybe Daniel joins the shipping party (along with PERCY JACKSON) to get James and Mairin together!

Aw, my little amazon princess. She's kind of a shameless flirt. Anyway, I think that they could have run into each other before. Or maybe we could thread out them showing interest in each other, or maybe they had a little fling in the past. Or maybe they've never met at all!

My daughter of Eris, Goddess of Discord. She has a really similar ability to Daniels! She can cause fights to break out if a hint of rivalry or dislike already exists. I feel like these two in a room together would be chaotic and downright fantastic XD but I also think she'd avoid him because he makes her ability worse.

I like this idea. Dani is kinda closed off and unattached herself, so I could see them being kindred spirits. Plus she's super competative but I don't think it would be a freenemies situation. She'd laugh it off and go on. Younger brothers are awesome

I think these two would probably fall under the enemies category unfortunately. Amy is a softer person and won't put up with the constant fighting and arguing. They could still be pretty interesting to throw together, especially after she starts dating @finley.

Ooh! I'd love to see these two together as well. I can see Daniel really trying to step on her toes for the fun of it. He isn't particularly a major troublemaker, but I could see him stirring things up just to attempt to get some sadistic kick from her possible reactions. I'd imagine she possibly has heard at least minimal things about him? Considering it seems as she is knee deep in camp affairs. Pardon me if that isn't true - I tend to be a little overly cautious with plotting. I don't want to twist anyone's characters and their personalities. He's clearly known to throw fists outside of training. (I'm not actually sure if brawls outside of training is tolerated in CHB? I assume beating the living daylights out of everyone isn't exactly condoned. It's been some time since I've refreshed on the books, so I apologize if I ever try for inaccurate plotting.) Perhaps in the past he's received countless scoldings from her? Me being the hopeless romantic I am, I'm always up for possible romances! Definitely more of an opposites attract situation. Daniel would probably find her extreme thirst for justice to be adorable? I think, while he'd probably never admit it to her, it's a trait he really admires. Overall, we could definitely see where this leads through plotting!

Brotherly rivals! I wholeheartedly agree with love/hate here. I think Daniel would genuinely like Finley - outside of the battlegrounds! Seriously, Daniel is such a sore butt when he loses a fight of any kind. This is where I can see the "hate" or annoyance playing a part. He's going to dig up some childish tactics to ice his bruised ego. Honestly, I can see him losing frequently and continuously challenging Finely till he finally snags a win.

Pranks? Daniel's in! He doesn't have the creativity to come up with mastermind tricks, but if James would let him, he'd eagerly aide him in his shenanigans! I could foresee Haven shuffling over to James whenever he needed a good pick-me up. Daniel, if you asked him, would dub himself the love master. Clearly false, but it feeds his ego well. I just laugh at the notion of Haven here trying to give him romantic advice. Hopefully, James can realize early on Daniel isn't as smooth as he likes to appear! He'll happily join the shipping and hope this wonderful OTP comes true!

Cord could easily have had Daniel wrapped around her finger in the past, so a possible spark a few years prior wouldn't be impossible! He'd find her intriguing, and that is something he ultimately constantly yearns for. To be excited. Any lull in his life never sits well with him. She'd could well be someone he'd think of whenever he craved odd/interesting conversation. I don't know if they'd ever be extremely close or anything, but I'm down with the two being familiar.

Oh boy! I see how these two mixed together may not be a pleasant combination! I think there would be some kind of amusement to be had for Daniel if the situation arose. Purposely, he might even track her down and watch what happens! He wouldn't force himself upon her if he ever happens to take note of the fact that she goes out of her way to avoid him, but if he's needing some entertainment, he might attempt it every once and awhile!

Why am I getting a kick out of how similar their first names are? Anyways, Daniel would be the obnoxious brother to follow her around when he doesn't have much marked up in his schedule. He'd love to have someone to match his fiery competitive nature, I don't think it'd turn to rivalry. More friendly competitive encounters between these two? I'd love to see these two close! Daniel grew up as an only child, so he really tries to be on great terms with all of his siblings!

Well, you can't befriend them all! In return, I think Dan would almost become annoyed at her softer nature. He tends to gravitate towards the more "bold" personalities. If Daniel happens to be lingering around Fin when she pops up, especially once they do move to the next level in their relationship, he'll probably duck out, or be rather immature in her presence.

PERCY JACKSON:
Percy is... well Percy Jackson. He is pretty famous in the demi-god world and is a friendly guy. He is used to being at the top. Maybe the two could spar a few times and both walk away with sour feelings. I don't think that Percy would like Daniel very much at first glance. He would think that he is a player. However it could be interesting if they were both working to help @mairin and @james get together, the frenemies would be a good choice for these two.

A long time thief who is trying to turn a new leaf. Her current job is to train new recruits in the Roman legion and she takes it seriously. Perhaps Minya could go to him for some advise on how to integrate Greek ideas into her training. I am not sure about these two. Your thoughts?

Ethan Jay Macree:
Easy-going, happy and makes jokes to shrug things off. Ethan likes most everyone, unless they are jerks. He might start out liking Daniel but then have a change of heart later on based on some events, but he wouldn't give up on the friendship very easily. He would try to work things out which may or may not work out based on how much Daniel brushes him off.

Ultimately, I think Daniel would be utterly envious of Percy's accomplishments. He'd definitely aim to dominate in any possible spars between the two. Frankly, good chance he may even turn to a bit of dirty fighting just to even get close to defeating him. A frenemies situation seems rather adequate. Evaluating general personality, Daniel would without a doubt be able to see Percy is a pretty chill guy, which would probably stop jealousy from completely manifesting and prevent any major disdain on Daniel's part. I'm all for him joining arms to nudge two love birds together!

Truth be told, I can't see these two ever interacting frequently. Familiarity at best? He'll be pretty neutral about her, likely a faint admiration for her dedication in training those new to the legion. Understanding towards her could be current as well. He never did any big heists, but he was a thieving little rascal when he was younger, and it was challenging to not pocket anything of value in arriving at camp. Potentially he could give her advice, albeit he wouldn't openly offer it. He's one to primarily think of himself, also, he'd try and charge her for his services!

A mutual feeling here! Daniel would welcome his cheery spirit with open arms. It seems Ethan may end up with mixed feelings here?Daniel is a decent guy in his own right and has mellowed with age, but by no means is he a saint. Once a bully in the camp, some he ridiculed haven't shaken off his antagonist background easily, not "fooled" by what appears to be a kinder facade coming from Daniel, when in actuality he has made a change. In the end, he merely matured and moved passed that, but he did definitely do damage, not to mention his on-going anger management issues. I don't want to make Daniel impossible to truly befriend, so I don't think Ethan will have too much trouble quickly bashing down his walls. He just needs to be shown that having the ability to depend on another isn't a weakness, but a strength.

You're right, she's totally knee deep in camp affairs. Good eye And yea, she would definitely have scolded him in the past! It's probably like an inside joke between them now.

okay okay okay, ideas are coming. What if for years they've done the frenemy thing, but this year someone challenges him (or he challenges himself) to woo Masin. Maybe he has to get her to agree to go as his date to some party (which I should make an event soon!) But she has to like actually want to go not just agree to help him out on the challenge. So he flirts with her more than usual and somewhere along the way they actually start to like each other. BUT they don't realize it until the truth of why he started giving her special attention comes out. , teenage rom-com plot, I know, but it works! This is an idea. Thoughts?

Or we could try maybe that he saves her life or something and she feels an indebted to him and goes a little crazy over it, causing them to spend a bunch of time together and fall for each other XD

What if every time the Amazons comes to visit they've had some fun shenanigans, so it's just kind of expected now. But once he starts to actually like Masin, she shows up and he's like oh shoot shoot shoot and all hell breaks loose XD

Oh my gosh! I'm actually swooning over this idea. xD Reminds me somewhat of the 1999 movie She's All That.  Daniel wouldn't miss the chance to show up his friends, accepting the challenge in haste, only later realizing what exactly he's signed himself up for. She's going to be seeing Daniel everywhere she turns, while he attempts to make it seem like a coincidence. Other times? He'll probably bluntly tell her he followed her.  

I'm all up for starting a thread! I'll let you know sometime in the cbox when I have it up and ready! Truthfully, it may take me a day or two, I fear my muse is a little shaky right now. Music can't always get the inspiration flowing!

Ooooooh snap. i love all the drama This is PERFECT! I'm feeling horrible - I haven't conjured any ideas yet! Daniel would NOT know how to handle this at all. He'll be a hot mess. I can see him doing anything to keep the two from ever really meeting up - ultimately failing and likely making matters worse! This would be a fun treat to play with one day!
