Heart pounding, blood dripping, blade slicing, claws cutting, internal screaming.
Finley had made a big mistake followed by several wrong moves. He had finally come to Camp Half-Blood, only because he wanted to challenge the forest that was stocked with monsters. Camp Jupiter definitely did not have that. So, he had ventured into the forest, hoping for a little one-on-one monster fighting practice. The only problem is, the monsters didn't make the one-on-one deal, too.
He was soon and suddenly surrounded by four Griffins. At first he saw the situation as a good opportunity to challenge himself. but he soon found himself on his back, being slashed at from all directions. He managed to slice one of them into dust, but no luck with the other three. He could only hope, now on his back, that his knife was doing just as much damage to the creatures as they were to him.
He felt a piercing stab through his left arm, that can't be good, he thought. Next, his leg started to go numb, oh, that's really not good. He winced as he started to be blinded by darkness and white spots across his vision. He felt his knife slip out of his hand and finally decided it was time to scream. @danielle

Danielle had decided to take a walk after dinner, her brother's latest letter still safely in her pocket. Normally she read them right off, but today she had to make an exception. Camp Jupiter had sent over some of it's best and brightest to test out their training equipment and she had been assigned to making sure they didn't kill themselves on the rock wall. Now she was lost in her own thoughts, wondering what her baby brother was doing and trying to find a spot hidden from her half siblings.
The woods were in sight whenever she heard the screams of an unfamiliar voice, alerting her to trouble not too far in. Sure, she probably should have called out for back up, but that was the last thing on her mind as she took off in to the thick vegetation and pulled out her sword from it's safe place on her neck. A man about her age was laying on his back covered in blood and surrounded by griffins by the time she made it to him, quickly slicing in to the one nearest her before it caught her scent. A second one broke away from it's victim to square off with her while it's partner in crime continued to claw at the stranger. Dani could only hope that she had arrived in time as she swung her sword again and prayed to whichever Gods were listening.

Someone had come to his rescue, and Finley had almost cried out in gratitude, but he was too busy crying out in pain at that point. It was much easier to move once the two griffins his savior distracted where off of him. He reached down toward his sheath, pulling his sword out and slicing it upward into the one closest to him. He groaned as he tried to move, being able to lean up into a sitting position. He quickly reached for his knife, tossing it into the nearest griff, watching it burst into a thousand pieces.
He couldn't see the girl clearly, but he didn't really have time to assess her. He pushed himself up to a sitting position, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in his arms and leg as he continued to slice outward and upward toward the last griffin that was on him. He couldn't tell if the girl was only fighting one or if she had two on her now, but he would get to her as soon as he beat this guy.

The last Griffin Dani had been fighting fell away in to a satisfying puff of smoke, eliciting a grin from the daughter of Ares. Whoever the stranger was seemed to be holding his own now, but he was in no shape to take down the one pinning him against that tree. One final swoop of her sword, and the thing vanished for the time being. Dani wiped off the blood from her sword on to her jeans and then pointed it towards it's tiny sheath on her throat. The weapon became smaller and smaller until it fit neatly back in to it's place underneath her shirt.
She had meant to chastise him or at least make some comment about his common sense, but all of that faded away as she looked at the guy for the first time. Dani couldn't tell when or where, but some how she had seen him before. Part of her hoped for the impossible, that he would raise his head and her brother's eyes would be staring back at her, but she stopped that train of thought quickly. Fin couldn't be here because he was mortal. Fin was at school. Fin was safe. Still, her words were caught at the tip of her tongue as she stared at the Demi-God in front of her and waited for him to speak.

Finally and suddenly, the Griffin he had been fighting vanished into a puff of smoke, with the help of his rescuer. His head was dropped down, leaning against the tree and panting heavily. Finally, he slowly lifted his eyes.
When he made eye contact with her, he felt his heart skip a million beats. There was no possible way that his sister was standing there, with a sword no less, fighting off monsters in the forests of camp half-blood. That was completely ridiculous. It was impossible.
And yet, there she was. Right in front of his eyes. He found himself giving a sharp intake of breath as he tried to move, but decided to stay put. He didn't even know where to start, what to say. The only thing he knew right now was that he was in pain, and his sister had saved him.

"Finley..." Danielle started as her brother's eyes met here. She had been right after all. "What, how. Fin how are you here?" Her voice was low, almost a whisper as she tried to work things out in her head. Before he could answer, she came back to her senses enough to remember that he had been pretty banged up. As it was he didn't look like he could stand and she could already hear another monster screeching nearby.
Without another her word she crossed the distance to her brother and tried to lead him away from the tree. They didn't need to fight another monster, not today. If they did she would probably have to handle it herself. Fin had really gotten himself in to a bind this time.

She spoke first, which was a relief because Finley was pretty sure his ability to word English was broken. The sound of her voice snapped him out of it though, and as she closed the distance between them, he wrapped an arm over her shoulders, allowing her to help him out of the forest. "Dani... I must be hallucinating," and for a moment, Fin really believed that it was true. There was no way his sister could be here. His blood loss must be getting to his head. "How do you know about Camp Half-Blood? Do you know about Camp Jupiter, too?"

Danielle was getting severely weirded out by the situation. Finley was asking questions like he knew something, but that was even more impossible than him being here. " Fin, I've been here for six years. Ever since we got separated. Why did you leave boarding school? You were supposed to be safe there until ..." well, she didn't know exactly when she was supposed to be able to see him again. Chiron had been cryptic about the whole situation, telling her she would know when the time came.
The part about Camp Jupiter was setting a few alarms off in her head though. He was suffering from blood loss ands she was wearing a camp shirt, so that would explain a reference to half blood, but how would he know about that. "Everyone knows about Camp Jupiter, but how do you? You are a mortal, Fin. You aren't supposed to know these things."

His head was swimming. Partly from the blood loss, but mostly because of who was saving him at this moment. He shook his head as she continued, claiming he was a mortal. "I lied. I'm not. I didn't do boarding school. I thought you did boarding school!" he tried to straighten up at that, but felt himself getting even dizzier. He slouched back into her arms. He turned to look over at her.
She looked so strong, so grown up. His heart broke a little that he wasn't there to see it, to aid in her growth. She was his baby sister, after all. At least, that's what he liked to refer to her as. "Dan... I'm a son of Mars. A Roman," he said, his voice severe and low.

Almost in the nick of time, Danielle spotted a large rock for them to lean against and a younger camper heading their way. She wasn't sure how much farther she could drag Fin, but it wasn't far enough." Hey, kid! Go grab a healer from the Apollo cabin and make it fast. " She ordered, her tone and Fin's state sending the boy running towards the cabins before she even finished. This was serious.
As she moved towards the boulder, she contemplated Fin's revelation. It wasn't possible as far as she knew, not without someone lying to them. " How can you be a son of Mars when I'm a daughter of Ares, Fin? That just doesn't make any sense. Did you hit your head or something?" The question sounded wrong, but it was the best explanation she could come up with. Remembering the sweater she had wrapped around her waist earlier, she took it off and pressed it to one of her brother's more severe wounds and hoped that someone would show up soon.

Finley was grateful for the chance to lean against the rock as Danielle called for help. He felt pathetic, really, but even Finley had to admit that he had his weaknesses. Even if admitting it meant getting the royal crap beat out of him. As she asked if he had hit his head, he actually smiled. That was Dani for you, always the smart aleck. "Well, yeah, but that's not why I'm saying this. It's true. I was claimed. Weren't you?" he was started to get even more of a head ache then he really needed right now, all because of this crazy Greek/Roman stuff.
As she lifted her sweater to press onto a wound, Fin flinched. He was surprised by this, for he rarely ever actually flinched at anything. But, he figured he must have just been more comfortable and relaxed because Danielle was there. Even though the situation was stressing him out. He would give anything for that healer now, though.

"I was claimed too, Fin. Three days after I got here. Six days after the attack, but by Ares." Was there a chance that Fin wasn't her brother? The thought was devastating to her, almost unbearable. He was her twin and that was all she had ever known. If Ares took that away from her...well, he likely wouldn't care, but she would raise Tartarus for the rest of her natural life. Almost out of reflex, Dani found herself leaning against Finley's should and trying not to cry as the horrible feelings over took her. She needed to keep things together until a healer got there, but all she wanted to do was break down and pretend that none of this was happening. "I've missed you so much Fin...I just don't understand why this is happening to us. Gods this is wrong, so wrong. We could've been together this whole time and they..." Her voice choked up as she heard running in the distance, hopefully coming from a healer an their friends.

Finley shook his head, but that started to feel painful so he stopped the movement. "I was claimed later than that. Romans have to go through this weird trial thing with this big wolf. Long story short, I was claimed by Mars." The thought was making his headache even worse. They had to sort this out. But who could they ask about it? The Greek and Romans knowing of each other and being friends had happened so recently that the research about their multiple identities was still new. As he felt Dani lean into his shoulder, Fin lifted his arm around her ignoring the pain.
He turned to kiss the top of her head briefly as she continued, then rested his cheek on her hair. "I know," his muscles were clenching up. Unlike Dani in this moment, Finley was leaning more toward the violent anger than the tearful one. Still, he kept still. "If the Greeks and Romans hadn't been so secluded from each other this wouldn't have been... like this. But hey," his voice softened, "we're together now, right?"

Dani shook her head as she tried to regain her composure, but it took more effort than usual. Thank the Gods her half siblings couldn't see her like this or they would never let her live it down again. "We've got to figure this out Finley...but later. I don't care if we're together, I care about why they kept us apart." It was harsh and she knew it, but the sight of two blonde haired people running up the hill stopped her from saying anything else. One of them she recognized instantly as that daughter of Achelois, @amaryllis. The other was some vitokinetic son of Apollo. Kotney or something like that was his name, but she really didn't care enough to remember it at the moment. Looking at Amaryllis pointedly, she stepped away from her brother. "Fix him Bryant...Please." The two girls didn't get along in any capacity, but if it meant getting Fin back to right...well, she'd put up with it.

Amaryllis had been hanging out near the arts building whenever a frantic younger camper came in screaming about one of the Ares girls killing someone. An Appolo kid took off with her in the direction the camper indicated to find Dani Rockefellar leaning against a boulder with so one she vaguely recognized. Finley Rockekfellar, the Roman Centurion she had trained in New Rome with a few weeks back. "What happened?" she demanded, barely registering Dani's desperate tone. They had been at camp long enough together that Amy should've known something was excessively wrong, but she was focused on the man in front of her. Achelois' gift flowed from her hands and in to Finley, taking away his pain so that the boy next to her could start healing him.
