Minya stood in front of the infirmary, looking up at the building with a scowl on her face. It wasn't that she wasn't grateful for the infirmary, she was. It was just that she shouldn't have to come here, this was a place for other people to go to get help, not her. She sighed and pushed open the door with her right hand, her left arm cradled against her chest. It had been a stupid accident. She hadn't been paying attention and the door she had been practicing her lockpicking on had swung open. The person who opened it pushed it so hard it clipped her arm. She brushed it off, thinking it was fine, there was no visible damage. But then two days later the small bruise that had formed had blossomed into a large black blood blister. Minya was fairly certain they weren't supposed to get larger than a dot... yet hers was the size of three quarters. Not to mention that when she moved her arm it felt like it was going to fall off. And so here she was. Walking into the infirmary, wishing she was anywhere else but here. "Hello?" she called, her voice sounding frustrated.

Everett wasn’t a medic anymore. He wasn’t sure he’d even want to be one if he had the chance. But none the less, healing was his gift and there was always someone who needed help. Therefore when he had the time he helped out in the infirmary. It was familiar work, yet not. Everything was different here, no doubt most things were different among the fully mortal as well. But helping people was still the same, and with time he’d get used to the strange ways healing was done here.
He was dragged out of his thoughts by the sound of the door opening and closing and someone’s seemingly frustrated “hello”. Everett looked the woman over for visible injuries as he walked over to her. She seemed to have hurt her left arm, she was holding it to her chest. Upon a closer look he saw the nasty-looking blood blister that decorated it. “I’m guessing your arm's what’s troubling you?” he said when he reached her, giving her a friendly smile.

She looked around the sterile room, noting the medical supplies and then she saw the oddity. The man who looked like he was out of time. He had a very 40's air about him. She wondered why he went for that vibe. Not that it was bad, it actually looked very good on him. He had looked up when she had called out and then he scanned her. She knew better than to fidget when people looked her over. It was harder to appreciate her beauty when she moved.
"I'm guessing your arm's what's bothering you." he said when he had finished.
Minya was surprised for a moment that he caught on so quickly, but then she berated herself. Of course he did. She was cradling her arm and there was a huge black spot on it. Duh. She took a few steps forward, closing the distance between them. "You, Mr. Man, would be right. I got clipped by a door, but I didn't think it was that bad. Apparently I underestimated my target." she said the last part more to herself. She would need to be more cautious next time she was practicing. If she was actually picking a lock, she would not want to be caught as easily as she was.
"Do you think you can tell me what is wrong?" She had never seen this guy before. Maybe he was a healer, or doctor or whatever. But she wouldn't know. She made it point to not come to the infirmary unless necessary, or they had something really interesting, which never happened. So she didn't make it there very often.

Once Everett had figured out the reason the woman was in the infirmary he started paying more attention to how she actually looked. She was undoubtedly pretty, someone either he or one of his friends would’ve asked to dance back in the day. She looked to be a few years older than him, technically at least. She was probably an Evocati if she still served in the legion, which he wasn't sure she did.
He nodded when she told him the reason behind her injury. He could feel a questioning look pass over his face as she mentioned a target, but he didn’t ask what she meant by it. At the time being he wanted to know more about her injury. Once it was dealt with perhaps it would be time for such questions, but right now hers needed answering. “Well, first of all, my name’s Everett Crowe.” he told her. He felt that he needed to introduce himself if he were to touch her, which he’d have to do considering the size and placement of her blister. Besides, you were supposed to introduce yourself to people you met for the first time anyway. “Secondly, I’m no doctor but I’ll try my best to figure out what’s wrong. As you must’ve noticed you have a pretty nasty-looking blood blister, which to me seems like it’s in the need of draining. But before we get to that, have you had any other symptoms?”

He introduced himself. Very nice. That showed some manners, he seemed like the type of boy who would have manners. She held out her non injured arm to give him and handshake. "Minya Alevi." she smiled as she said it, first impressions were very important. When their handshake was done she went back to cradling her arm, it hurt worse than she was admitting to herself. But she couldn't be in a cast, or even a brace. If her arm was broken... well that would mess up a whole slew of plans.
She cocked her head at his second statement. "You're not a doctor, yet here you are in the infirmary? How do I know you can even take care of this?" Her skeptical tone was followed by her sliding her body so her arm was away from him. She was not about to let some random guy off the street treat her and then end up with a huge scar! No sir, it would take some mighty good persuading and some heavy evidence if she was going to let anyone other than a licensed physician touch her.

Everett shook her hand with the words “Nice to meet you.” Her name rung a bell, but he wasn’t quite sure where he had heard it before. Something about training was it? He was fairly certain she was still serving in the legion though.
He couldn’t help letting a chuckle escape his lips at the way she reacted to him saying he wasn’t a doctor. Perhaps it wasn’t the best reaction if he wanted to gain her trust, but he’d never encountered this kind of skepticism and frankly he found it a bit amusing. “I guess you can’t know. As to why I’m in the infirmary, it’s because I used to be a medic and thanks to my father I have an ability for healing. And while it might not have been my area of expertise, I can assure you I’ve done plenty of popping blisters back in the day.” Everett told her. “It’s been a while since training, true, and I don’t exactly have a red cross around my arm anymore but sticking needles ain’t that hard to do.”
After a moment’s consideration he added: “If you don’t want me to touch it, I understand. But please at least wait here until one of the doctors is free. I’ll keep you company while you wait if you’d like.” He smiled at her, trying to convey that there weren’t any hard feelings whatever she chose to do.
