PERSONALITY

Darci is a quiet sort. She doesn’t talk much, and when she does it is very soft. Her voice is naturally soft, and combined with her excessive shyness leads to her being unheard over others. The loudest her voice regularly gests is barely louder than a whisper. If the time came when she really had something that she wanted to say, and felt that everyone should hear it, raising her voice, it would shock all who heard it. Along with her timid nature, she has a habit of hiding her face behind her hair. This is to protect herself from the staring eyes of anyone who looked at her. If she does become the center of attention, she is prone to hyperventilating and over thinking, along with complete paralyzation from fear.

Notwithstanding the girl's shyness, she is an excellent singer. It is quite possible that no one at camp knows that, unless they secretly spied on her while singing. Darci is very loyal and loves her friends. She would help them with just about anything, even if it put her out of her comfort zone. If she is put out too much, she may run away or freeze with fear, but she’d at least try. She doesn’t do good with confrontation. If people are fighting around her, or trying to fight with her. She would much rather silently agree and run away before the argument is started.

HISTORY

It all started with a beautiful couple. Both from wealthy, high society. It was simply expected that they would get together. The two were happy. They had three beautiful daughters, each one named after a Bennet sister from the mother’s favorite book Pride and Prejudice. With employees that helped take care of the housework, and the children, the mother was free to focus on her social obligations, and the father free to spend all his time in the office. It was no secret that he was spending extra time there because of his exceptionally young and beautiful assistant. That was just part of the life that you led when you were a part of this society. Though, the mother was always faithful, and she turned a blind eye to her husband's indiscretions, just because that was what was expected.

One year, the woman chose to join a group of close friends on a cruise around the Caribbean. The woman went to a party, wanting to just have fun. To not worry about her children, or the sham of a marriage that she pretended to be happy in. She caught the eye of a beautiful man, he seemed to see that she was not happy in her situation. He said that his name was William. He was romantic, beautiful, and perfect. Though he never gave a last name, he reminded her so much of the ever loved Mr. Darcy. It honestly didn’t take much for her to invite him into her cabin. The night was beautiful and perfect. The next day, they made port and she never saw the man again.

Returning home from vacation, the woman and her husband quickly rekindled their romance, and her life went on. A number of months later, she knew that she was once again pregnant. This would be her fourth child, so nothing strange happened. Though, she did notice that the child seemed more active during the day, and really liked music.

At the time of the child’s birth, the mother had convinced her husband that it had to be his. Though the thought of the affair not long before hung in the air. The child looked like the mother, and as most babies do, it wasn’t completely clear which man was the father. Unable to forget the fling that she had had during vacation, she changed the child Darci.

As the child grew, it became very apparent that she was not the husband's child. Expectations didn’t allow for a scene, so the husband kept his mouth shut. Though he and his daughters began to verbally abuse her, starting at a very young age. Darci grew up thinking that their treatment of her was normal. Their words and actions only persisted when in private. Openly, and in the eyes of society, she was the beloved youngest daughter. She was taught the piano and basic manors. She was able to go to the greatest schools that money could buy. Even there she was bullied. It had started with her sisters, who also went to the same school, but soon translated into others picking on her. She was an easy target.

One day, in eighth grade, she had been cornered in the girls bathroom. This incident led to the girl to run away from school. She had little on her, but still she couldn’t stay there. She was already lower than the low, now she was a freak. As if being a pre-teen wasn’t enough. She was consigned to live on the streets. She made it one night. It was hard, and she was cold. She decided that she was being stupid, and would have to go back and face the consequences. Just as she was about to return, she was found. She was told that she was special, and that there was a place where she could be safe. That sounded good, so Darci did the bravest thing she could...she went.

Arriving at the camp around the time of her 13th birthday, she was told that she was the child of the Greek god Apollo. How could that be? But the more she thought about it, the more she realized that it filled in a lot of blanks in her life. Acclimating to the camp was slow. She hardly said a word during the first six months of her being at the camp. When the time came for her to join in the game of capture the flag, she was put on a team, and told that she had to fight. Were they crazy? But she wasn’t one to argue. Clad in armor, she shook vigorously as she was told what to do. Someone in an opposing team found her, just as she was able to calm herself. They charged, and she instantly squeaked a mouse's squeak and fell into the fetal position, hands over her head and eyes closed.

In time, Darci started to open up, still talking softly, but she began to think of this place as home. Within the last few years, she had learned that she had quite a talent for archery, and enjoys playing music with others of her same cabin.

EXPLANATION OF ABILITY SPECIALTY

Musical Weaponry allows Darci to turn soundwaves into a solid, tangible form. This requires for the girl to focus, and she needs to have the image clearly in her mind. Simple shapes are much easier than complex ones. If focus is broken, the soundwaves would dissipate. Because of ability, she can, in a way, see the soundwaves that she is forming. Darci is also a musical prodigy when it comes to playing musical instruments, it is not like she knows how to play it just as she touches it, but she is able to pick them up quickly. Further, if music is playing, the sound will shift if Darci hears a lie at that time. She isn’t able to tell what the lie was, or who said it. In all honesty, she doesn’t fully know what it is.

Everyone seemed surprised at how quickly Darci picked up playing the piano. For the longest time, she felt like something was wrong with the instrument that the family had. When she would practice, she would hear things, and sometimes the sound would twang off when people were talking. She would just shake her head and play it again. Everything would sound right. Darci didn’t realize that she was different until Junior High School. The bullying had become almost unbearable. She had been cornered in the girls bathroom, and enough was finally enough. She finally did something that everyone thought wasn’t possible. Darci screamed. All she wanted, was for them to be pushed away from her. Unknown to her, a bubble of her scream formed around her, and was forced out. Slambing each of her tormentors into the nearest solid service. One into the bathroom stalls, another into the wall, and the final one into the sinks and mirrors.

OTHER

While still very shy, Darci is a great friend, even to those who people would otherwise consider friendless, or impossible to befriend.
