Oliver calmly sat under the shade of a tree with his legs crossed, as his eyes ran across the page of a book. Sure, there were more convenient places to read than the forest, but Oliver did not have much of a choice in the matter. It was that time of the day when D-dog had to eat, and that dog was a really picky eater. D-dog did not eat anything that had already been killed or cooked, so Oliver was often dragged to the forest so his demonic dog could hunt up a meal. Currently the little rascal was out of sight, but every time Oliver heard a rustle in the bushes his dark eyes would dart up from his book to check if it was his canine companion. Several minutes passed as Oliver continued to peacefully read his book with only the ambiance of the forest in the background. Then suddenly, a familiar monstrous roar echoed through the forest and disrupted the silence. In response, Oliver smirked and turned to the next page of the book he was reading. The 21st century was very different from his own time; the people of today had discovered and invented so many things that Oliver could have never imagined back in the 18th century. So, he had become rather addicted to reading about all the things the 21st century had to offer, it was how he stayed up to date. A few sentences into the next page, Oliver heard the sound of something being dragged toward him. He peaked up from his book for a few seconds to see D-dog in his demon form, dragging a large deer corpse. The corpse was laid down a few feet away from Oliver, then his companion transformed back into a simple black wolf dog. ” You didn’t pick any fights with monsters today? Must be going soft.” Oliver spoke with a slightly playful tone, then his gaze focused back on his book. In response, D-dog walked over and began urinating on Oliver’s shoe, then the dog walked over to the dead deer and began eating. ” Oh that’s really classy, D. Glad to know that being a few hundred years old hasn’t dulled your sense of humor.” Oliver spoke sarcastically and D-dog stopped eating for a second to watch Oliver shake the pee off his shoe, then D-dog’s ears perked up. He could hear footsteps and smell someone approaching them, so he began to growl very subtly but Oliver just continued reading. ZELENA LOPEZ

Zelena had to get the spell right. Why? Well no particular reason other than she was really trying to get to the level of magic she could accomplish at her age and this was one of the spells that was slowing her down. Zelena didn't get dressed about a whole lot, but magic was one of the things that could get to her. She wanted to impress her mother, if that were even possible. She wanted to be a true Daughter of Hecate. Also, she was a Cabin Counselor, so she had to be a good role model for her Half-Siblings. Zelena tried to find a spot in the forest, and as she looked she saw a guy reading a book... and a dog eating a dead deer. Well that was... something didn't expect to see. The guy didn't seem at all disturbed by it though. Also strange. Then again, when did Zelena Lopez, one of the camp's resident oddballs, have the right to call anyone or anything strange? She shrugged it off and set up near the duo. She felt a good vibe about that part of the forest. Nature and witchcraft did go hand-in-hand after all. Placing the two apples on a log, she closed her eyes and concentrated, uttering a spell. When she opened her eyes, she saw two small frogs. She sighed. "You're supposed to be large toads," she said. One of the frogs hopped off the log and made its way over to the guy reading. Needing her subject to try the spell again, she followed it. Oliver Belmont

Oliver remained focused on the book in his hands and seemed to completely ignore the presence of the other camper in the forest with him, Until she started reciting an incantation. Her voice broke the silence of the surrounding forest, which caused Oliver to finally lower his book and look at her for the first time. He was pleasently surprised by how cute she was, but he still needed a bit of peace so he could continue reading. Oliver was about to ask her to pick a different spot for her practice so he could have silence. But he ended up watching the rest of her spell in action, because he was sort of curious about the end result of her spell. And he was sort of curious about her. Turning a pair of apples into frogs was no small feat, but she seemed disappointed with the product of her work. When the frog began hopping toward him, Oliver looked at it with a blank expression. He then began manipulating the shadow of a nearby plant to form a cage composed of shadows around the amphibian, in order stop it in its tracks. His brown eyes calmly looked at the sorceress for a second before he spoke. "try not closing your eyes when you cast spells. You could have easily turned me into one of these little guys. " He spoke with his usual laid back demeanor before turning his attention back to his book to continue reading. With his face behind the book once again, Oliver slowly moved the shadow cage that had captured her amphibious friend toward her, in order to return her test subject. Once the cage reached her feet, it disappeared and set the frog free, unharmed. "by the way, the name's Oliver Belmont"ZELENA LOPEZ

Zelena gave the guy a glare when he told her that she needed to not close her eyes when she performed a spell. Well, he was clearly not a half-sibling her hers. She knew what she was doing. "Closing one's eyes helps one focus," she said. "And it actually makes sure you don't cast a spell on someone or something besides the subject because you are focusing on the specific subject in your mind. Spell-casting 101. The fact that I didn't even know you were there until now means you would have been perfectly safe." She then stepped over and gently took the frog. "Thanks for catching him."
The guy then introduced himself. Oliver Belmont. She hadn't heard of him. As a Cabin Counselor, she felt she knew a good many campers around camp. Oh well, she guessed she knew him then. "My name's Zelena Lopez," she said. "I've never seen someone control shadows like that. I heard other Children of Hecate are able to do it, but only with a highly advanced knowledge of magic. I'm not quite there yet." She then sat the frog down. "Enjoy your time as a frog before the spell wears off, little guy. Try not to get eaten."Oliver Belmont
