PERSONALITY

Eris is the Goddess of Strife and Discord, and her personality is very much a conflict in itself. She is on both sides of the war, and yet on neither. She thrives on creating animosity between anyone and everyone. Aries may be the God of War, but she is the one who sparks it. She is known to have arguments with herself and be of two opposing minds over numerous matters. She is highly manipulative, and extremely intense to be around. If she has any redeeming qualities, it's her will and determination to do the dirty, under-handed deeds she does to get a good rivalry going. She fully believes humanity can't evolve without conflict, so, in a sense, she feels she's actually being helpful in a twisted way.

HISTORY

Eris was both among the children of Erebos, the God of Darkness and Nyx, the Goddess of Night. She was around before the Olympians, and was there from day one to cause conflict among them and, later, the humans they reigned over. Not only that, she was the mother of every entity that cause conflict from Lies to Murder to Unjust Labor and so on. Though the gods respected the magnitude of her power, they also despised her. Eris wasn't sure if she hated being despised or enjoyed it.

Eris took issue with not being invited to a grand wedding along with the other gods, and as revenge she created the golden apple of Discord and tossed it into the middle of the festivities. The goddesses Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite were led to believe whoever owned it would be the most beautiful goddess. Zeus had a mortal named Paris judge who would obtain the apple. He eventually gave it to Aphrodite when she promised he would win the heart of the most beautiful mortal in the world. That woman was Helen of Troy and the romance led to the legendary conflict known as the Trogan War, therefore revealing Eris' master plan.

Eris continued her dark work over history, causing personal and wide-spread conflict. In Rome, she became Discordia, and was of course behind multiple wars there, feeling quite at home with mortals who were always ready to fight. From there, she was the spark behind any and all famous wars, making her a favorite of Aries. Well if anything, he didn't hate her as much as the other gods did. Oddly enough, Eris had a brief stint working for the Olympian Hermes's postal service, handling calls from customers with numerous issues. Later, she was among her siblings in Tartarus when their mother, Nyx, confronted Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase, though the demi-gods escaped them.

Currently, Eris has taken interest in the odd happenings at the two camps. While, oddly enough, she is not the cause of the under-lying conflict causes by the strange dreams, she wishes to discover who is. However, while part of her admires whoever this is for their work, another part of her wants to destroy them for stealing her gig. This is typical of this mistress of conflict, always at odds with everyone... even herself.

EXPLANATION OF ABILITY SPECIALTY

Confusion Manipulation means that Eris has the power to put people at odds- with each other and within themselves. She can make one who is brilliant at making decisions suddenly indecisive, and cause best friends to suddenly be paranoid and even distrusting of one another. If she really turns her power up, she can cause all-out battles and feuds because of this.
