PERSONALITY

Aura is the ultimate activist for right in the world, and embraces almost every good cause from equal rights to the environment to animal rights. She is highly passionate and doesn't back down from those who were try to deter her. On a casual basis, she is very friendly and believes in giving everyone a chance. She can be very chatty though, and often her work in activism distracts her from her demi-god duties. She is also very musical and can play the guitar as well as write songs.


HISTORY
Aura Jenkins grew up living with an activist father, Kenneth Jenkins, who worked in government and was always pushing for the rights of both human beings and animals, as well as the good of the environment. Aura admired the man so much, and wanted to follow in his footsteps. She would join him for rallies and protests, holding signs or singing songs and playing the guitar for him. At age ten, she was already quite good with the instrument. Aura had a happy childhood helping to do right in the world.

Sadly, Kenneth Jenkins' life was snuffed out in a car accident on his way home to Virginia from his work in Washington D.C. one night. Aura was devastated. Just after the funeral, a mysterious woman showed up claiming to be Aura's legal guardian. She had all the paper work proving it, and the next thing Aura knew she was being taken to the woman's shop and its connecting home. The woman revealed herself as Aura's mother... the goddess Iris. Unlike many gods, Iris had a strong connection with her mortal children, and a few even helped her run her health food shop. Iris and Aura connected quickly, and Aura decided to stay with her.

It was Iris herself who drove Aura to Camp Half-Blood in an old van when she was eleven, explaining to her the importance of her training there as a demi-god. Iris had done this for several of her children, and instantly "claimed" Aura before Chiron and the other campers, not by popping her symbol over Aura's head, but simply by shouting, "Hi, I'm Aura's mom! Just dropping her off!" She also tossed in a quick advertisement for the shop before she hugged her daughter and left.

Each summer since, Iris has been taken by her mother to the camp. Iris has grown to like the place, and sees it as a chance to continue her father's work, telling the campers that while their demi-god duties are important, mortals of the world and their rights were important too. One day, Aura plans to be a musician who uses her fame and money for good. Demi-god or not, she has the heart of a hero.

EXPLANATION OF ABILITY SPECIALTY
Aura's Photokinesis is different from that of Apollo kids as her blasts of light are rainbow-colored and a bit tamer as a weapon. They can be a nice distraction though for an enemy, and pretty up a room.
