PERSONALITY

Music is very much an obsession for Caleb. It has been a part of his life since birth and he can only assume it will be till the day of his death. Being born the son of a singer/songwriter and the god of music among other things. It wasn’t like he would have had a choice in the matter anyway. Any musical instrument holds his attention and almost every type of music as a beauty in it that Caleb can come to respect. He does prefer string based instruments but wind based ones aren’t too bad either.

Caleb has a general overconfidence in himself, never to the point of thinking he’s better than someone else but he has always just felt so sure of himself and the things he could achieve. Like everything would always just work out for him. This only got worse as he found out he was the son of an actual god. Even when things don’t turn out as easy as he thought they would Caleb has never been one to reveal it. Typically with joking about it or just acting like it wasn’t as bad as it was or could have been. He does enjoy a challenge though even if he doesn’t want it too appear like it was for him.

Caleb could easily be described as a people person. He enjoys being around others, especially when he can play music. It’s for other people to enjoy as well and he’s more than happy to share his gift.

HISTORY

Caleb was born to a singer who was actually better known for the songs she wrote instead of her own singing and the God of music, Apollo. Apollo had been drawn to one of his mother's songs that he found particularly beautiful. Deciding he had to meet the creator of it himself. He found his mother and under the guise of a human musician they spoke of music and even shared ideas for songs and melodies. They spent some time together with his mother even falling for the god. They shared moments together before he left. Nine months later Caleb was born. His mother was fine with how things turned out, never knowing who his father actually was. She wrote a number of songs dedicated to the man and the time they had spent together.

His mother was a busy person but still tried to find time for her son. As he got older she attempted to teach him all sorts of things related to music. All of which he quickly picked up. Learning to play most instruments at an incredibly quick pace. She blamed it on both of his parents being musically inclined and she was partly right there. Caleb had a natural gift for music.

Aside from his life of music Caleb’s home like was pretty peaceful. Nothing much happened that seemed out of place. He did seem to notice more things than his mother had but she chalked it up to just an active imagination. She couldn’t see half the things he could in their day to day life. Before his thirteenth birthday Caleb’s mother was approached by a strange individual that claimed that it wasn’t safe for Caleb to remain in the human world. All of which seemed weird to the young boy. As if he wasn’t human or something. His mother attempted to force the man to leave but as he kept talking, even offering proof. She finally accepted that the man she had actually loved had been a god and how their son, obviously a demigod.

Caleb didn’t want to leave home. He loved his mother. Yet if he stayed monsters would attack and possibly not just him but those around him. Caleb had to go, if not for his safety but theirs. He did promise like a child would that one day he would be strong enough to stop every monster so he could come home. Once at camp he was claimed by Apollo as his son. It was weird now knowing who his father was. That and why he was so skilled at music. He did eventually feel a little outmatched. Many children of Apollo had amazing abilities fit for combat. Caleb just had his music, normal demigod abilities and he was alright at archery. Still he loved his craft and not everything had to be about combat.

As he got older at camp his abilities only grew as well as his strength. The idea of taking down every monster so he could live at home again had faded. Yet he did wish to be able to freely visit his mother without the threat of attack but camp Half blood became his home now.

EXPLANATION OF ABILITY SPECIALTY

Audiokinesis:

Caleb’s abilities all revolve around sound and most importantly music. Since a young age he could learn to play just about any musical instrument with ease. His love of music also helped. He can remember just about any musical melody or verse he’s ever heard and is skilled at coming up with his own quickly. While not as strong as charmspeak, while playing music he can be vastly more persuasive then normal. Not able to force someone into doing something they would never do but enough. He can also manipulate the sound of the music he plays or a whistle to be louder or sharper to stun enemies. One of the the few things he can ever use his ability for when combat is concerned. A little of his fathers ability as the god of healing got mixed into his Audiokinesis. Given the right tune and melody he can heal minor injuries.
