Clove had been all sunshine and rainbows since she got to camp. Or well, that was what she'd tell anybody asking. Truth was that she'd been nothing but a horror and nuisance, threatening people, starting fights and generally reinforcing the stereotypes that went with the Ares cabin. Landmines around the cabin? Great idea! Hurting, maiming or otherwise cause serious injury to other campers? What was the problem again? Today Clove was in a particularly foul mood and it showed. Even most of her siblings didn't feel like keeping her company and they could handle some bad things. Clove muttered a few choice oaths as she sharpened some of her throwing knives. Two of them had gotten the smallest dents in the blade that made them a fraction less sharp. Since nothing but the best would do, Clove had gotten herself a whetstone and had sat on the front porch of the cabin, glaring with ferocity at anybody that even dared look her way. This usually kept most people at bay, so it didn't take Clove ridiculously long to calm down significantly and mostly just glower at people that approached her. Still, the grinding noise of the stone scraping over the celestial bronze brought her comfort and while most hated the noise, she adored it. To her it was like a soothing little melody. She played it over and over and with every motion the sound became better at the nick in the weapon was smoothed away and the sharp edge returned while it faded from her mind. A sharp weapon was a sharp and happy mind. At that point she realised somebody was either near her or looking at her. She looked around with an angry glare already placed on her face. She had to do all she could to avoid throwing knives at innocent bystanders (those obviously didn't exist). Everybody was guilty of doing something wrong, clearly. But she kept the blade in her grip loosely, not quite ready to risk hurting the blade again. The people? She couldn't care less. She had a great aim with her throwing knives and was not about to waste a chance to show off if people offered it freely. She straightened a little as she stood up. She was quite small of frame but that had never stopped her. "Fine, no hazardous flying objects if you stop hiding, okay? I'm feeling generous so I might even engage in conversation." She said, meaning it as much as she possibly could. Her short fuse was known to get the better of her either way. Tag: Open!

Phillip was walking to his cabin after a good day of training in the amphitheater when he passed the Ares Cabin. He did not have a real opinion on Ares kids except they were pretty easy to trick out of money and stuff. The biggest trick of that though was getting away with it. Luck was usually on his side though. There have been a few times where he lost either the game or the chase afterwards. He gets chased a lot when people learn about who he is or what his power is. Most people did not understand his power. Especially Ares kids, if Phillip had a nickle for every time he heard “Being lucky is not a power.” He would be set. His power may be subtle but it’s kept him alive so far so why stop trusting it now. It may not be as showy as some of the other powers in the camp but it is what he got. He sees a woman in the cabin just sharpening her knives. He heard her say something but could not understand her. He thinks about if he should respond to her or not. He could not make up his mind because it is in his nature to be talkative and friendly but it is an Ares kid, they seem prone to being angry. Phillip could be infuriating so he was not sure what to do. Well he was going to let chance decide, luck was always on his side. So he flipped a coin. It landed on heads. So he was going to go talk to the girl. “Are you talking to me?”

This guy. The nerve on this guy! Really, it was ridiculous! Clove had to hold back quite a bit to avoid chewing him out instantly. She was slowly getting more certain of what she wanted her job to be when she got out of camp. Assasin seemed like a good option, and if nothing else it payed well. Her aim was insanely good with throwing knives snce she had specialised in using them ever since discovering her talents with them. She narrowed her eyes at the guy that had the audacity to be uncertain if she was directing her conversation at him. "Yes, I am." She replied, punctuating every single word through gritted teeth. "Is that too difficult for you?" She asked mockingly as she rose to her feet, keeping her dagger in hand as she walked closer to him. "Or is your parent the Deity of Dimwits?" She asked in a cutting voice. A lot of her siblings were particularly stupid but most of them just loved picking fights. She wasn't too different, although she mostly kept her wits as sharp as her knives. Phillip Porter Phelix

He looks back at her kind of shocked at the lack of decorum and how rude she was. He knew this was Arescabin but she could at least act like she had some sort of polite bone in her body. “Ok, not sure why the hostility. How can I help you I was just passing by on the way back to my cabin after training for a bit when I heard you.” He says a little bit nervous but he puts on a brave face. “And if you must know, my mother is kinda the deity of dimwits. She is at least the deity of luck so people who rely solely on that are a little dim-witted. Believing luck is on their side. Lady Luck does not care about them personally, she gives prosperity and luck to all apparently. Luck is not always on their side but it is on mine so why not risk a little talking to the Ares cabin.” He says a little more confidently but also in a joking manner. “But seriously is there anything I can help you find or do? I know your brothers and sisters are not always the most helpful but deep down, I mean deep deep down they are good people. Even if they are an aggressive and fight obsessed group.” Clove Tyler

This guy had some nerve and didn't seem overly weighed down by his brains. The pure shock and awe at meeting somebody from the Ares cabin that was rude and impolite should not have been that big. Not to mention that nearly all her siblings were known for bad manners and she was actually relatively average on that point. Nothing too shocking. Well, except to this guy it seemed. Clove raised an eyebrow, only slightly surprised. There were a lot of blunt tools in these sheds. She narrowed her eyes at him, which never was that much of a good sign. "Ares cabin. Hostility is our way of hospitality. I mean, there is a reason there is a mine field surrounding the cabin." She said with a slightly grande motion to the distance he was at least smart enough to keep. "Probably one within 6 feet of you. Step on it and you might not even have to go six feet under. Can collect the scraps, if you're lucky." By the sound of it, he probably would be. Or lucky enough not to step on one that was actually active. It was interesting that he named his siblings dimwits. That was kind of her thing most of the time. A lot of Ares kids were a whole not of power and rage but got compensated on the brains. They didn't really have much of those. So she shrugged and walked closer to him, ever so casually dodging the land mines. "My siblings are dimwits, definitively not good people and more interested in blood on the walls than hugs and rainbows." She said, crossing her arms as her tiny little self stood in front of him. Despite being petite of frame she was intimidating enough. "They'd have your head and laugh. Don't think we're all sunny side up deep down. I'd prefer using at least half the camp as live target practise but I've been told that is bad manners." She didn't mentioned needing help, pointedly ignoring that part. She never needed help with anything. Or at least, not unless the help came from the few people she trusted. He was not on that list by far. Phillip Porter Phelix

Phillip just looks at her and says “trust me I know how dim witted some of your brothers and sisters are. They fall for the same thing every time. I think a couple of them still owe me money but I’m not too worried about it. I stopped trying to con people for money a while ago. Prosperity has a limit right plus right now all my money is in the stock markets. I'm pretty lucky when it comes to that.” He kind of chuckles to himself. “You seem interesting, wish to test your luck? Come on what’s there to lose you can bet whatever you want?” He just slowly walks up. He did not even touch a mine like he knew where they were. He says “you said something about a minefield didn’t you? That was super reckless even for me.” He starts to laugh out loud this time and under his breath says “Thanks Lady Luck.” Then he speaks up again “see what I mean Dim-witted. I do not even know if I have any siblings but they are all probably like me and reckless. But what’s the point of living if you never take a chance. It just so happens that chances I take usually work out for me. But now back to the topic of a bet. Do you feel lucky?” Clove Tyler

So he wanted to play games. Clove was almost tempted to entertain the idea, but she wasn't. She knew trusting luck was not a smart thing to do and despite her many flaws, she wasn't particularly impulsive. She tended to be far more cold and calculated than impulsive like so many of her siblings. She wasn't surprised he managed to con her siblings but the fact he admitted to that prior to trying to get her to accept a bet suggested he thought she fit the same box. Well, he was wrong on that point. Still, games were fun enough if the stakes were acceptable. He was far too lucky, being able to navigate the minefield on pure luck. It was to be expected but even those with the best luck could still get unlucky and well, luck wouldn't stop skill. At best it would dodge it. She grabbed a coin from her pocket and tossed it into the air. "I'm not stupid. I don't feel lucky enough to mess with one like yourself, but I'm willing to entertain myself at loss of a coin. If you win, it's yours. It's not much but it should satisfy your love of games and it's all you're going to get from me. If I win, I get to cut one eyeball out of it's socket. You get to choose which one. Since luck is always on your side, it shouldn't be much of a risk, now should it?" She said. It was a dirty way to play but she wondered if he trusted his luck enough to take that kind of a bet out. Phillip Porter Phelix

He looks at her with a puzzled look like she was crazy. An eye for a coin does not seem like a good deal but he is impulsive but not worth the risk she may take the eye anyways. “Eh I’m good, like I said money is so boring when you have a bunch. I should find a use for all the stuff I have won over the years. However I will bet a favor for a favor. That’s always fun especially with an Ares kid. Plus if you win it means Lady Luck has something in store for me or us. That’s always exciting! Think about it if you change your mind you know where to find me or if you ever need a favor we can always make a deal.” He slowly turns around and walks away dodging all the mines and heads towards his Cabin unless Clove calls out to him. Well that was boring, not to mention anticlimactic. Clove saw the look in his eyes that clearly called her out for her insanity at the trade she offered. She didn't mind. Some people had to learn the hard way that not all people were good. Some people needed that kind of lesson to get rid of their naive disposition, although she doubted one encounter with her would be enough to cure a happy feller such as that oddball. She watched him with a calculating look as he disappeared. She would only be willing to exchange favours if the alternative was death and even then her pride had to be able to get away with it. She put her dagger back into it's sheath and headed back into the cabin. She looked at one of her brothers. "Lucky boy is on a string for favours. I think he expects to get in lethal trouble and wants us to bail him out." She said blandly, bored already by the mere idea. It was really all most people considered her and her siblings useful for. Bailing them out in case of a fight. Maybe one day it'd get more interesting than that. Phillip Porter PhelixCLOVE OUT! Thanks for the thread (:
