PERSONALITY

Being the son of a crazed human and the Greek goddess of Chaos and Discord Dion’s personality didn’t escape unscathed. He can go from having a normal decent conversation to annoyed in seconds. He’s learned to control his feelings better than when he was growing up but it’s still a tell when his emotions switch. Dion also as a bit of a sadistic side, definitely from his mothers side. He enjoys the chaos in other people’s lives. He doesn’t initiate it like his mother would rather just let’s it happen and watches.

Dion has the same unforgiving nature as his mother. Becoming wrathful when wronged almost going beyond whatever it was that set him off in the first place. Dion prefers to be alone as he is normally one to be serious or snarky than friendly and fun. Because of these facts he hasn't gained himself very many friends since coming to camp.


HISTORY

Much like the goddess he was born to Dion’s life had been nothing but chaos and confusion growing up. Eris enjoyed walking among those considered insane in the mortal world. They were a great source of the chaos she loved so much. One such being caught her eye. Dion’s father had a particular clear sight of the world and had seen enough of it to try and tell others. No one ever believed him. From their doubts and opinions he started to go mad himself. Still he stood outside and tried to tell the public of the world they couldn’t see.

Eris took great joy in tormenting his father, revealing herself to him in different forms to fuel his chaotic rambling to the public. One day she was feeling particularly chaotic and thought of a new method to haunt the poor man. She took the form of a beautiful woman and listened to his rambling and shouting. In this human form she took interest in what he was saying and agreed with him.

For a moment his father thought he had met someone he connected with. They shared a few nights together, enough for him to get close to her. She waited til he seemed to be in love with her, shared a few humanly nights of bliss. Then revealed her plan to him all at once exposing her true form, the goddess Eris. His father broke even more that day. Unable to trust anyone anymore. Anyone could be a god or goddess out to trick him. Life was pure chaos outside his front door.

Nine months later Dion was born, he arrived at his fathers apartment in the middle of the night. A baby with a note right on the living room table just there when his father wasn’t looking. Of course Eris would drop off the child in as chaotic a way a possible. Dion spent about six years with his father and his own chaos before being taken away by child services. His father couldn’t handle  himself let alone his child. He was sent to a mental hospital shortly after Dion was taken.

Dion was moved to an orphanage, his past of having a crazy father and no mother around was meant to be hidden but kids found out when he was nine. He was teased endlessly, as if their lives were any better. They were all at the same place. Being past up time and time again by possible parents. Dion grew to hate the other kids at the orphanage, it wasn’t just the teasing either. He just didn’t feel like he fit in anywhere. Shortly after turning thirteen Dion ran way from the orphanage. The bullying and the teasing he could take, he had gotten used to it but lately he had been hearing voices. Whispers in the shadows of the building. He couldn’t make out what they were saying but he just needed to get out of there.

He spend the next few months on the streets stealing food where he could and finding shelter in abandoned building. He also made sure wherever he slept was as well lit as possible. As long as the shadows remained so did the whispers, a woman’s voice he couldn’t make out. He just assumed he was going crazy like his father before him. Light was the only thing that kept the shadows and the whispers that came with them at bay.

Dion stayed on the move, always feeling like something was following him. Eventually he knew for sure he was going mad. He started noticing large creatures, the best he could describe as monsters. They seemed to turn up just about anywhere Dion went. For the first time in his life he preferred the shadows to something else. Eventually Dion was finally found by a man who just appeared while he was sleeping. He explained that Dion was actually a Demigod and there to take him to the only place he would be safe. Dion thought he was still going mad, at least till they made it to camp. Thankful that this wasn’t one huge chaos fueled episode.

Dion was claimed by Eris, the goddess of chaos, strife and discord. His life seemed to make a little more sense by learn that chaos was just going to follow him. At least now he knew why. Dion had a new goal, as he trained both his body and abilities with shadows while ignoring the constant whispers that followed him. To meet his goddess mother and ask her once and for all whose voices he was hearing. Were they hers, a curse or was Dion actually just as mad as his father.

EXPLANATION OF ABILITY SPECIALTY

Dion has they ability to call on shadows for aid in a number of ways. Either from the shadows that are nearby or generate shadows from his own body and palm of his hand. He can use them to create solid objects to either protect himself or as a weapon. Or just as an ominous shadow like smoke at his command. He can also use a a technique called shadow travel. Moving from one shadow to another in a manner that feels like running through a tunnel made of shadows to the exit. Long distances of travel can be very draining on him though and he doesn't enjoy using the technique if he can help it. Light either nature or man made is can easily weaken his abilities though.
