Arista hadn't felt at home in the Hades cabin from the beginning. It wasn't that she was that much more at home in other places. Ever since she'd been half kicked out of the house by her stepfather she'd felt misplaced. Not that the house she'd lived in with her mother and stepfather and half brother had been ever so peaceful and homely. It had all been a nightmare that lasted as long as she could remember. It changed very little about the differences with camp. Things were still not home, the darkness and doom and gloom aura of the cabin made her feel like this place couldn't be home, no matter how many decorations she used to try and brighten up the walls. This place wasn't quite home. She signed as she finished putting the gazillionth poster up on the wall to hide another piece of cold and dark Onyx wall. She might be a daughter of Hades but she most certainly wasn't going to allow it to become more of her identity than being a daughter of her mortal parent. No matter how badly misplaced and misguided her mother was, she had always done what she thought was best for her family. It was just a total bummer that she didn't manage to get with the times. 1930 wasn't the same as the 2000's were. With the new addition to her little corner of the cabin she stepped out of the cabin into the little square. People looked at her differently when the they realised who her father was, so usually she tried to avoid telling them. Walking out of the cabin always felt a little dramatic so she tended to act kind of embarrassed about it and kept her head down. Yes, her father was big three, but that only caused trouble and even he had been aware. She just wanted to hide that part away. It was hard to know if he even cared... She sighed and rushed forward, not fully minding where she was going. That was when she bumped into somebody. Her eyes widened and she looked up shocked. "I am so sorry!" She quickly apologized. "I wasn't looking where I was going, I'm so sorry! I hope I didn't hurt you?" She asked, biting her lip in anguish. Could today get any more annoying? Tag: Open

Sunny Lee was one of those people who were just naturally friendly. Maybe it was the whole Daughter of Summer thing that gave her that warmth or because her mother raised her to be a decent human being. Whatever the case, she was the type who gave everyone a chance. Yes she knew everyone at the camp could have their flaws... the Hermes kids for example and their melted ice cream prank at the Notus cabin, which was known to be the hottest cabin at the camp for the same reason the Boreas cabin was the coldest. However, again Sunny Lee didn't let possible in-born traits keep her from making friends. When the Hades kid bumped into her and was quick to sincerely apologize, Sunny Lee didn't shiver or tense up because of who the girl's father was. She seemed very nice so Sunny Lee would be equally kind. "Hey, no harm done. I probably get bumped into at least a few times a week. This place is crazy crowded in the Summer. Are you okay?" Sunny Lee said this with her warm smile and cheerful voice, hoping to put the other woman at ease. ARISTA SPRUIT

Luckily the person she'd bumped into couldn't have been an Ares kid. She wasn't instantly chewed out or beaten up and the other girl actually was quite kind as she responded to her. Rissa smiled slightly, comforted by the knowledge she hadn't really messed up so badly that every chance of getting along with this person was permanently ruined. She furrowed her brow slightly as the other girl mentioned getting bumped into a few times a week. That wasn't something that Rissa had ever had to deal with. Were people more aware of her than others? That didn't seem right. She nodded. "Yeah I'm good." She said, a little absently as she tried to collect her thoughts on the matter a little. "Do you really get bumped into that often? I mean, doesn't it bother you? It makes me feel worse for bumping into somebody that already has it a lot and manages to remain nice about it." She said apologetically, although she didn't feel too uncomfortable any longer. At least she knew the other girl meant her no harm so far. If she did, she was an expert in hiding it. "I'm Arista by the way." She added, awkwardly holding out her hand to shake the one of the other girl. "I'm sorry that I don't remember you. It's a bit much with all the campers around to remember all the names. It's not like my crowd is spectacularly popular anyway." She said, a hint of disappointment and resentment in her voice. Hades, she still didn't see how it all made sense. Well, it had made parts of her life seem more logical, like the parts where her mother was actually truthful about being born in 1912. For her time, that wasn't insanely young to be a mother at 18. Modern standards were... well a little different. Arista was just glad she didn't have to grow up in those times. SUNNY LEE MEADOWS

Artists seemed very sweet. She also seemed like she was worried that Sunny Lee was super upset with her. Geez, did some of the other kids there deliberately try to make her feel that way? Sunny Lee hoped not. She gave the girl another smile and waved off the apologies. "Seriously, it's all good. No harm done, I promise. And there's a lot of campers here. It's easy to forget names. I'm Sunny Lee, and Arista is a beautiful name by the way. It's nice to properly meet you." When Sunny Lee was a kid in Miami, she was always curious about the kids there, both local and tourists. So many from various walks of life, rich and poor, good homes, bad homes. Sunny Lee's mom would tell her that all of them had one thing in common. They all deserved at least one chance at her friendship without being judged prior. Sunny Lee took that to the camp with her, and Arista deserved the same chance. So far, Sunny Lee liked her. "Listen, if you're out and about, you can join me on my walk. It's nothing special, but it would give us a chance to get to know one another."ARISTA SPRUIT

Sunny Lee seemed like a really nice girl and the name suited her particularly well. Sunny for a girl with a very sunny disposition. She was kind and friendly despite Arista just having bumped into her. The daughter of Hades smiled slightly and shrugged a little. "Not everybody feels that way. I don't want to think about what happens if you bump into an Ares kid. Some of those are almost too dangerous to attend this place." She said with a shiver. She'd received the occasional death glare from that direction. It didn't matter too much to them that she was a daughter of one of the Big Three. They still wanted her maimed. It was problematic. When Sunny Lee invited Arista to join her for the walk, Arista smiled and nodded instantly. "I would love to! I like taking walks. A lot of people go swimming but from what I hear it's a bit hazardous for some of us." She rolled her eyes at the fact she was deemed guilty for the actions of her father. Those Gods could hold grudges like no other and place blame in the least appropriate places. It was weird and not always good. "Thanks a lot for inviting me. Sometimes I wonder if people fear I bite or something. They see my dad and presume me to be the same I guess." She admitted with a shrug. It weighed heavy on her, but she tried to make it all seem casual. This wasn't the time to start creating drama after all. She was supposed to be making her own path in life. SUNNY LEE MEADOWS

Sunny sighed and nodded about the Ares kids. Yes, some of them were lunatics. Several of them were dangerous. However, they did have their purpose. "I know they seem a good bit off, but they have stepped it up for the camp in the past when it was in trouble, like the Kronos and Gaea incidents. They're good fighters. They just have crappy manners."Sunny Lee smiled about swimming. Yeah, it was hazardous to some, but she enjoyed it. She wouldn't rub it in though. They would just have a nice walk. "Hey, I'm glad to have the company, and I'm not worried about you biting me. You seem very nice in fact, and beautiful if you don't mind me saying so." Sunny Lee wasn't flirting there. She was just being sincere. The girl was gorgeous. "And hey, your dad is who he is just like my dad is who he is. My father is Notus and he doesn't even have his own cabin here. I share one with some of the other kids of similar minor gods. There are some here who seem to think that's a reason to pick on me and others, but... you know what... I just brush is off. Don't let the haters get to you, and know you have a friend in me."ARISTA SPRUIT

Well she was right about the Ares kids at least. They were great fighters, without a doubt. It was just a bit of a shame they had to be so horrible in their manners up to the point she felt desperate at times to escape them. It was quite common from what she understood. She smiled slightly and shrugged. "True. I'm just the kind of person that wants to get along with just about everybody if possible. It can be a bit challenging when it's clear they have no interest in getting along with me. Though I suppose my social isolation of late hasn't exactly helped things." She knew herself well enough to know that the way people saw her was so strongly mismatched to who she was as a person that it made her very insecure. It wasn't really like her to be insecure because it had never really been a safe path for her to walk. It was disorienting. Arista's face grew red when Sunny called her beautiful. She did not feel very comfortable with that particular remark. Still she smiled a little shyly. "Thanks. You're really beautiful too. I love your hair." It was the best she could manage, even if it was all honest and sincere. "If they pick on your again we can just scare them a little bit. I think that should be quite easy with everything we have lying around in the cabin. I'm still a little bit salty about all the skull decoration but if they can serve a good purpose that will more than make up for having to live in what is essentially just a fancy mausoleum." It was a bit harsh but to her it felt true enough. There was only black and death themes and she really missed out on any pastels or happy themes available. Oh well, wrong dad. SUNNY LEE MEADOWS
