Hearts And Minds (Annabeth)

Stacy was enjoying the break from training. She loved training of course. She was a geek at heart and all her fictional heroines were double tough and were always up for a fight. She strived to be the same. Being a Demi-goddess helped her a good bit in the superpowers area. Along with what she got from Venus, she had those abilities all Demi-gods shared. It was pretty sweet. But again, Stacy liked the little respites and trips to New Rome.

After doing some shopping, hoping to find some cosplay items for when she visited home for conventions, Stacy decided to go to a nearby cafe for a cold drink. It was a hot summer day after all, and she had worked up a thirst. She made her way over and selected a blackberry lemonade. Like the mess hall, this cafe had spirits who could conjure up whatever one wanted. Stacy loved that. She had admittedly ordered odd items in the past just because she could. Then again, she would never eat a roast beef and peanut butter sandwich again. The pepperoni pizza with marshmallows and chocolate syrup wasn't have bad though.

Stacy sat at the table and sipped her drink, smiling at a few Cohort colleagues present as she did so.

Annabeth had recently taken on a project of trying to recreate the things she had found on Daedalus's laptop. It was a bit of an obsession more than a project... but no one had to know that. Aside from Percy. He often encouraged her not to get crazy about it... advice that she did not take. The cafe was crowded and her usual table was full of legionaries. It was a beautiful day, no surprise that everyone was out and about. She saw another table with some room and quickly moved to it, setting her laptop down before speaking.

"Hey, sorry. All the other tables are full, can I sit here?" she asked, already unloading her drinks and her bags as well.

The nest thing Stacy knew, she had one of those special life experiences that one put on a short list. Ever since the famous seven demi-gods defeated Gaea, Stacy had been a massive fangirl, especially of two... Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase. The stories she heard of their adventures, even before they knew of Camp Jupiter and Stacy really knew of Camp Half-Blood, were epic. They had taken on Kronus himself, and the Gaea. WHO DID THAT AND LIVED?

And then... standing before her and asking to sit down, was her... Annabeth Chase. Stacy almost choked on her lemonade before answering. She had seen Annabeth before at a distance, but had never spoken to her. Now... here she was!

"Um... sorry... yes... definitely yes. Sit down please!" She then formed a big, goofy grin before leaning just close enough to whisper. "You're Annabeth Chase, aren't you? I am so totally honored. I mean, I don't want to fangirl all over you because I know that's totally weird to do, but you're... like a tried and true hero." She then cleared her throat. "Oh... I'm Stacy Hart, Third Cohort. Again, it's an absolute honor." She then offered her hand, hoping to have it shaken by the legend herself.

Annabeth was so focused on her laptop and getting situated that she didn't even notice the girl almost choke on her drink. She had tunnel vision like that sometimes. She nodded briefly as the girl said yes, but then when the girl leaned forward Annanbeths grey eyes shot up instantly to make eye contact with her. The words the girl was saying... Annabeth couldn't help but smile. She wasn't embarrassed, but she wasn't cocky either. She knew that people knew who she was... she had experienced this before. Annabeth shook her head, moving her laptop aside, deciding to give this girl her attention. "Stacy Hart. Annabeth Chase, as you so wisely deducted," Annabeth took the hand offered and shook it, reaching her other hand over at the end of the shake to place on the top of both of theirs, "that's incredibly noble of you to serve in the legion, Stacy. I'm sure you're a valuable member of the team."

Annabeth then complimented Stacy! Annabeth Chase complimented her! That was crazy awesome! Okay, Stacy promised not to fangirl. She wouldn't fangirl. She would try her best not to fangirl... okay, she was probably going to fangirl.

"I mean... I'm pretty good," she said. "I did well in the last War Games with my Charmspeak... but... like I doubt it was the level of Piper McClean or the level of anything you've done. I've heard so much about you. Is it true that you've actually designed stuff for the gods? Oh, you've probably met my mom. My mom is Venus just like Piper's... well Piper calls her Aphrodite because of the... the Camp Half-Blood thing." Stacy frowned a bit. "I... haven't actually met my mom yet... is she cool?" Stacy then blushed hard. She failed at not fangirling. She cleared her throat a bit. "Sorry, I've just never met one of the seven before and when I heard all about what you all did and what you've been through... well I've seen Frank and Hazel around and all, but never talked much to them, but..." She sipped her drink. "I'm... gonna shush and let you talk now. Probably the best idea." Annabeth was as brilliant as they came after all. She needed to be the one to talk.
