PERSONALITY

Magnolia is a very troubled, and lost soul. She's suffered with mental health issues and eating disorders her entire life. As such, she can be unstable. Her moods hit rock bottom easily, and it's very hard to lift her spirits. She's the sort of person that just goes down, down, and down. The problem is, she really WANTS to be happy. She wants to be perky, outgoing, popular, and fun. She really does. She desperately wants to be a people person, sociable and likable. But her nature doesn't really fit that. 

She's very bitter because of her godly parent. Her mother is the Goddess of famine and starvation, two things that are very unpleasant. Basically she's the offspring of horrible things. As such, her self esteem is pretty crap. She thinks very poorly of herself, and doesn't see much worth long term.

Magnolia has a very short temper. She's riled up without much warning, and her anger is quite aggressive. Likewise, she is just as likely to fall into a depressed state. Either way, she will lose all control of her ability and isn't someone you want to be around.

Surprisingly, Magnolia is someone you want on your capture the flag team. She's loyal and dedicated. She does what she can, and she doesn't give up easily. She doesn't face people head on though, instead choosing to act in the shadows. She sets things up in advance, and lets her opponents weaken themselves until she confronts them. A bit cowardly, some might say, but it's strategy. When your power game from wearing things (rotting doesn't strength anything), that tends to become your strategy for most occasions. 

Magnolia is a veeeeeery sarcastic person. She hides all of her insecurities and moods behind sarcastic, sass, and flat-out rudeness. She's always comes across as a prickly person.


HISTORY

The origins and life of Magolia are not pleasant, so if your faint of heart, you may want to pass on this poor, deprived child. It all began in the Egyptian desert. Magnolia's father was a researcher, who, due to poor planning, ran out of gasoline while out on a dig. He was stranded in the desert for three days. When dehydration and starvation started to make him dellusion a woman appeared. A cruel, but beautiful woman. Well, one thing lead to another... And the woman left the next morning, vanishing minutes before rescuers arrived. 

The man thought little of the woman in the coming months, passing it off as dehydrated and starved delusions. He eventually returned home to England to continue teaching at a university. Then, one day, a child was left at his doorstep with a note. That day in the desert was no longer a delusion. This man did not want a child. He immediately ordered a DNA test, and when the results came back the she was his child, he was stuck. His parents, on the other hand, were both ashamed but excited. They wanted grandchildren desperately, but they were also deeply religious. It was quite the moral dilemma, knowing their son had a daughter out of wedlock. Eventually though, they chose to take in the child, claiming the guardianship their son didn't want. 

Growing up, Magnolia was a picky eater. For some reason they always gave her food the was over rip, or just past it's prime. It was a conundrum her grandparents never understood. From a very young age she would only eat food the was severely under ripe (like bananas still green). Because by the time she finished eating it would be almost on the over rip side. It meant the she was a scrawny, and twiggish child. 

Magnolia's father was in and out of her life growing up. She always knew him as her father, but she also knew she was unwanted by him. He never spent time with her, or recognized her in any way. Her grandparents offered the love they could, though it wasn't perfect. They still saw her as a shame on their family. They loved her, dearly, but she was a constant reminder of her father's sin. So, her grandparents were not known for their tolerance and kindness.  

Magnolia wasn't found quickly by the satyrs. She was an especially late bloomer (though a few cruel campers said it was because her parents was too insignificant for any monsters to care about her). She wasn't found until she was 14-years-old, and even then it wasn't because of any particular event. Maybe those cruel campers were right. No one cared about a child of Limos. Anyway, she was brought to camp, and after a few weeks her mother finally claimed her. A goddess some had never even heard of. Though when her origins were discovered she became an outsider. Unwanted. She brought famine with her. Immediately, almost all of the Demeter children turned their backs on her (as their mother was her mother's opposite). They wanted nothing to do with someone like her. Someone that destroyed everything they stood for. 

Magnolia almost left camp. A number of times. No one would care, would they? But she stayed, mostly because to her? Other demigods were the lesser of two evils. It was them, or her human family. 

EXPLANATION OF ABILITY SPECIALTY

Rotting Touch: Magnolia is the chilld of famine and starvation. As such, when she touches organic substances (not human/ sentiently alive) she can make it rot. This is most prominent with food, and nature. As a strength, this skill has proven especially useful in capture the flag games because she can create booby traps of sort. On the downside, any lack of control means she's going to be eating rotting food. The skill requires constant control, otherwise it can affect her life in particularly horrible ways. 

The ability developed slowly. It was barely noticeable during her childhood. Food just tended to go bad quickly with her. It grew over time though, growing in strength at a rather steady rate, though control didn't come until her teenage years.She still doesn't control it well. Turning it on? Oh she has no problem. It's the turning it off part that's an issue.
