PERSONALITY

Arista is a generally strongheaded individual. She tends to fight hard battles but is a loving girl at heart. She loves her friends and those that get close to her more than anything and would break the world into fragments to find them, save them or protect them. She's very closed off in nature due to her past but always tries to connect to people, something she finds very difficult. She's kind and easygoing if people don't anger her and usually rather pleasant to be around. 

She can be highly insecure, is always headstrong and fiercely protective, even more so of her siblings. She desires to find love and live a happily ever after, even if she is convinced such a thing is impossible to achieve as a demigod. While she always dresses and behaves generally happy there is a deep darkness that hangs over her like a cloud most days that she desperately tries to deny. 

HISTORY

Things were complicated for Arista's mother after she found out she was with child. As an unmarried woman in the early 1930's, she would face more than a little backlash. Still the man she'd fallen for had warned her he couldn't stick around forever. She hadn't intended for this to happen at all, making her anguish more. When she confronted her partner as a young woman, he had recently made a pact with his brothers not to have any more children. The news that he was to have an heir within nine months was not something he was glad to hear. In a strange kind of hope of saving his child and the mother he lured the mother into the lair of the Lotus eaters. 

Many years later, the young woman escaped the lair and about 8 months later she found herself in this strange new world with child. Obviously the prophecy was starting to work on making absolutely certain that one child of the brothers would claim the prophecy. 

In order to secure financial certainty, Rissa's mother married a strong man that had taken interest in her, although not in her child. Arista, to him, was nothing but a bother and he always treated her as a nuisance. As she grew older, he started to get more violent with her and her mother as his consumption of liquid courage started to increase. 

Due to her mother coming from a conservative and oldfashioned background, she never divorced or left the man, feeling that he provided them with the life that they couldn't have had otherwise. Arista withstood the beatings when she was little and as she grew older she started to defy her stepfather and took on a protective role of her younger half brother that had been the result of... well goodness knew what. 

When Arista turned fifteen she joined a school trip that had been funded by her stepfather completely to show the school what a completely wonderful person he was after somebody had caught Arista with too many bruises and not enough of a story. The trip was to go to America, to Disney. While most kids were excited while at the airport, Arista started noticing things....

Away from the influences of her horrible step father, she started seeing monsters. At first she thought it was just her paranoia now that she now longer had to constantly watch her back and her little brother. She found out soon enough as they started to attack that such a thing was not the case. That was when an unfortunate tour guide sneaked her away from her class to explain things and tell her to head for Camp Half Blood. Not quite standard procedure.

She sensed no malice and snuck out, figuring that she'd call child protective services on her parents to save her little brother from their father later on. So she left and got in the car with a complete stranger carrying nothing but a stole knife from the hotel dining room. She didn't need it, as the Satyr soon enough brought her to camp, where she found out exactly what she was.... 

Now all that is left to find out is who her father was, although she had managed to privately guess at his identity due to the fact she heard tales about the prophecy and her father clearly tried to hide her. 

EXPLANATION OF ABILITY SPECIALTY

She's got extreme stamina in taking physical and mental damage due to her history and it's very hard to get her truly shaken. Maybe every thing hurts but she's not about to give up, for pride if nothing else is left to save. It is pure strength of will, not some supernatural ability to withstand more beatings than others, although she has mostly gotten used to pain over the years. She's an intimidating young girl in that sense, being able to handle more than she should and ever protecting those that can't protect themselves.
