PERSONALITY

Daisy is a little bit ditzy, flirty and dreamy on the surface.  She likes the idea of feeling safe, secure and comforted due to the loss of her father at a young age, and she has and will sacrifice things in order to gain that sense of security.  She is not a super-athletic person, and would use her charmspeak powers to have things done for her instead of doing them herself.

She gives off this persona because she is protecting herself deep down from the powerful emotions she felt to James Gatz, a member of the Greek demigod crew that until recently was very separated from the Roman demigods.  When she's with Jay, she's a different person; sweet and caring, feeling able to say and do things she didn't think she'd ever have the courage to do otherwise.  That is who Daisy really is; the other side of Daisy is just a mask she wears to fool her husband and others.



HISTORY

Daisy was claimed by the Roman goddess Venus at a young age, and was raised in New Rome at her insistence, as her father had been killed in a car accident when she was three years old and was originally to be raised by a nasty aunt who treated Daisy poorly.  Once she was old enough, she was sent to Camp Jupiter; New Rome had made an exception for her to live there for the first few years, but she had to serve the ten years in the legion to live there permanently.  She knew that her ancestor Aeneas had founded Camp Jupiter years ago, and strived to live up to his legacy.  She had trouble though; she was always a little bit ditzy and didn't care for the combat training everyone else seemed to.  She soon learned though that her mother had graced her with the power of Charmspeak, which helped her immensely.  She would use it to get people to help her with ther training, and she soon learned to be a semi-decent fighter.  

Daisy's life changed forever when she ran into a demigod from the Greek camp named James Gatz during a quest she had been sent on.  Immensely attracted to him, they fell head over heels for each other at just seventeen years old.  They agreed to help each other on their respective quests, something that was frowned upon by their godly parents.  They were inseparable for a blissful two weeks, until Venus demanded that Daisy go back to camp.  She left James, telling him she'd always love him, and returned to find out she was betrothed to a son of Mars named Tom.  Her mother told her that this match would provide her with the comfort and safety she'd always yearned for after her father died when she was so young; reluctantly Daisy married Tom.  It's been almost ten years since she last saw James; she's still married to Tom, however the marriage is loveless and childless and Daisy is unhappy.  She finds herself thinking of James, or Jay, nightly before she goes to bed, wondering if she will ever get to see him again...

EXPLANATION OF ABILITY SPECIALTY

Daisy was granted the ability of Charmspeak by her mother, something she uses to her advantage.  She can convince people to do things for her, from small things like getting her a glass of Diet Cola, to reading a book out loud to her, to sometimes lying to her husband about what or where she's going.  She tries to use it for that last part sparingly, but sometimes she can't help it.  She doesn't use Charmspeak on her husband as it won't work on him any more, much to her chagrin.  He gets very angry when she uses her ability and has hit her on occasion, which is why now she is starting to be afraid of her own ability.
