After speaking with the kids who knew about Somnus, they didn't seem to be in any better shape than they were before. They suggested going back to Half Blood and talking to the Greek people there. They suggested it in a rather snarky tone, in fact,which caused Annabeth to be in an even worse mood. After storming out of their little temple and saying a few choice words,Annabeth turned to Percy, face red with annoyance. "Fine, we'll go to Camp. But we're in the middle of a semester, what are we supposed to do about school?" she really was worried about school, however, she did know that solving this was more important.... she breathed, reaching a hand over to take Percys and turning away from him.

"I would ask who could want us dead but the list is so long it's probably shorter to make one of who doesn't, you know?" she asked, retorically and not retorically at the same time. She shook her head. Were they ever going to catch a break?

Percy was kinda glad he had decided to wait outside. True, he could have gone in, but Annabeth was much better at these things than he was. Though by her exit from the temple maybe he should have gone with her. Their hands met, a natural occurrence, even as she complained about missing school. Of course she would be worried about that. Though, he found that he was as well. He had worked hard to get into this school and did not want to get kicked out. He shrugged, "Eh, we'll talk to the professors. I'm sure they understand that 'the fate of the world' is a pretty good excuse to miss class."

He was kind of excited to go back to camp, yeah he went there a lot, but it was home. He was always happy to go back, especially when Annabeth was there. At the mention of who didn't want to kill them Percy thought.

"Well, pretty sure Chiron doesn't want us dead at least not right now, Leo, Piper, Jason, Frank, Hazel, Nico... Well Leo might cause I drenched him in his sleep last time we were there. and Nico, I can never tell with that kid." He started ticking the people off on his fingers then putting the fingers back down as he changed his mind. "So that is at least 5 people who don't want either one of us dead."

Annabeth rolled her eyes, "are you saying we tell the Professors what we're up to? We can't trust anyone right now!' she said, shaking her head as they walked. She tried not to feel butterflies at the fact that their hands had met. That was normal, right? But still it made her want to stop right there and kiss him senseless, but they had things to do! They had a world to save, or at least their relationship!

Percy literally started naming people who didn't want them dead and she rolled her eyes, "Leo doesn't want to kill you," she mused. Then she reached her free hand up to gently smack him on the back of the head, "good, so our friends don't want us dead," she said. Then she kept pulling him forward, as if she knew where they were going next but she really didn't. "Guess the next people we need to talk to are Frank and Reyna," she suggested, though she didn't head toward their offices.

Percy let her pull him, absolutely no idea where they were going. That didn't matter too much cause even if Annabeth didn't know where they were going right now, she would by the time they got there. "You think our teachers are out to get us? Seriously, I can't catch a break. Teachers always hate me!" he joked, but was also kinda serious. Everyone except his step dad, Paul, and Chiron, all the teachers didn't seem to like him much. Must be his dazzling good looks.

"Hey, Leo might want to kill me. Sometimes he looks like he just wants to set me on fire!" Percy countered seriously. But he knew he was safe with all of his friends. Unless of course one of those crazy ghost things came back. Those were not cool. Annabeth was talking about going to see Frank and Reyna but she was walking in the opposite direction.

"Wise girl, if we should talk to them next, why are we headed back to our-- your house?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. He pulled her to a stop so he could look at her.

Annabeth rolled her eyes again, "I'm not positive that we can't trust them but it's better to keep them out of it," she realized he was trying to make a joke but sometimes Annabeth completely phased over that aspect of his sentences. She was used to being the one who stayed on track even when Percy was being a goofball. She wouldn't have him any other way, though.

She did chuckle when he mentioned that Leo sometimes he looked like he wanted to set him on fire. "That's because you had a thing for his girlfriend once," she added, trying to maintain a nonchalant nature about that whole thing. It wasn't really a touchy subject, not anymore, but Leo was young and a bit... firey when it came to Cal.

Annabeth hadn't really noticed which way she was walking until he stopped and caused her to stop with him. "I'm... not sure. Habit? Following my heart?" she joked before leaning toward him and kissing him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. After a moment she pulled back, "maybe I just don't want things ot be so bad so I wish we could just go home," she added that part with a small frown.

Percy dismissed her dismissal of his comment. He was used to her ignoring his jokes. She didn't do it always, but often enough that he was used to it. And she didn't hate him for it. Which was nice, some people didn't really appreciate humor in intense situations. And honestly, sometimes he tried to not be humorous, but it just slipped out. All the time. Probably another reason Leo might want to get him out of the way, eliminate the comedy competition.

Annabeth stopped when he pulled her then wrapped her arms around him as she gave her explanation. Following her heart, well that was good, that meant she currently didn't want to tear his eyes out because of her bad dreams. Though, now that he thought about it he never wanted to do that to anyone when he was awake, only when he was sleeping. Annabeth kissed him, and he kissed her right back. Would he ever get enough of her kisses? Probably not, but he could always try. She pulled away as she continued to speak.

"I wish home was safe." he said quietly as he pulled her closer to hug her. Not even sleep was safe, not that that was anything out of the norm for demi-gods, but still. This was on a whole new level. But they would figure it out. They always did. Though maybe if they went home, did some brainstorming, they might feel better about all of this.

He pulled away from her, holding her by the shoulders. "Idea, we go home, make some lunch, think this through, then go to talk to Reyna and Frank." he said with a smile.

She nodded, still frowning as he said that he wished home was safe. It was probably the most 'unsafe' at the moment, which was a terrible thought. "We'll need to go over to Camp Half Blood soon as well," she commented with a nod, "when's the next moon?" she should know, but she'd been so preoccupied with being miserable that she actually wasn't sure what day it was, and that was incredibly out of character for Annabeth Chase.

They arrived at the house and she opened the door, releasing his hands to unlock it and step inside. She turned to face him as he walked in the door behind her, her face slightly flushed. The house was impeccably clean. Down to the tiniest spot in the tiniest corner. That was one way she had been dealing with all this. It even smelled like fresh cleaning supplies since she had just scrubbed down the stove that morning...

They walked into the house. The impeccably clean house. Percy raised an eyebrow as he gathered in the scene in front of him. It turned out they both had different ways of dealing with the nightmares. Strange how waking up didn't feel any better, just less angry. He was like Bruce Banner in the day and the Hulk at night. even before he knew he had his own powers, turning into a giant green rage monster was not at the top of his list of enviable powers. They really needed to get to the bottom of this.

Making his way to the kitchen for the lunch they had mentioned making, Percy thought about Annabeth's question. Full moon? The next one was... "Tomorrow! The next full moon is tomorrow... oh wow, that doesn't give us much time!" He bantered as he pulled out the materials he would need to make a killer sandwich. Not actually a killer one, just an amazing one. He didn't want her dead in reality, just his dreams. Closing his eyes and shaking his head, Percy tried to banish the memories that suddenly jumped to the forefront of his mind. Annabeth screaming at him, yelling out hurtful things, the rage he felt directed at her. Bringing a hand to his head, he squeezed his eyes shut struggling to get his mind back on the present.

Annabeth slowly followed Percy into the kitchen, hyper aware of everything he touched. He said the next moon for travel was tomorrow and she pursed her lips, nodding. "I'm... not sure I want to go right away. I mean, we have school, right? Can we afford the time off?" she asked, sighed a little as she leaned against the kitchen table and watched him. She closed her eyes too, shaking her head, just enough that she didn't notice him do the same thing. Every time she closed her eyes she saw horrible things again. Percy abandoning her being the first and foremost. But when she opened her eyes, his hand was to his head and he seemed to be shaking awake the darkness just as much as she was.

She walked over to him slowly, "Percy..." she muttered, not wanting to startle him. She gently tapped patted him on the back and rubbed the spot her hand landed. "Hey," she said again, pouting a little as she moved around to stand in front of him, keeping one hand on his back and clutching the back of his neck with the other. "Open your eyes."

The bread sat on the counter, toppings spread around in a disarray. Percy felt like that was an unfortunate representation of his life right now. So much potential, yet nothing was working out the way it should. Sadly, this was his normal state of being. Messed up. It seemed that no matter what he did someone, or some god, messed up all his hard work. Like his relationship with Annabeth. He had worked so hard to get back to her, and he did. He remembered her, she found him, and they were together. Then they were tossed in to Tartarus, but at least they were together. Now... these dreams were trying to make Annabeth into some sort of monster.

In reality, she was far from it. Annabeth's voice was soft, her touch gentle. Despite the awful dreams he had recently, he trusted her. He loved her. He opened his eyes, meeting hers, and letting his hand move from his head to cup her cheek. Her eyes were gray, which others might think a bland color, but they had never seen the vibrance and beauty in Annabeth's eyes. Wrapping his other arm around her waist, he rested his forehead against hers. Being here with Annabeth was real, it was right. He hated spending time away from her, not seeing her for days on end. If they could only get a handle on these stupid dreams...

"We should go anyway... this is bigger than class. And no I am not just saying that because I don't want to take the test in my stupid math class." He smirked, but felt confident now that she was in his arms. "Let's see what we can figure out. Besides, fate of all demi-gods? Seems like a good reason to slough."

He opened his eyes and met hers and she gave his shoulders a squeeze. His hand moved to cup her cheek and she leaned into that touch, keeping her eyes locked on his blue ocean eyes. Those eyes always made her feel better... until in the nightmares they didn't. That blue turned to poison, and poison and Percy was a combination she did not care to relive. Ever. He pulled her forward, wrapping an arm around her waist and resting his forehead against hers. She moved her gaze downward to his chest where his camp necklace budged out underneath his shirt. She placed a hand there, then pressed he hand flat against his chest.

He said they should go anyway, that this fight was bigger than school... she bit her lip, a chuckle bubbling but not escaping at his words. "Fate of all demi-gods," she repeated with a sigh, "sounds like a normal day for us." She lifted her face to meet his lips with hers, rather quickly and suddenly. She closed her eyes, and thankfully didn't see anything bad. Her hand on his chest gripped his shirt so she could pull him closer, then she released him just enough to look in his eyes. "Alright, seaweed brain. If you insist."

It felt right to have Annabeth leaning against him. He didn’t care about what dangers they would face, or nightmares, or disturbing visions. He could handle all of them, and more, if she was next to him holding his hand. As she rested her hand on his chest, he pulled her a little closer. A smile broke his serious expression at her joke of a normal day. The sad part was she was right. Ever since he found out he was a half-blood it seemed like one fate after another was in his hands. couldn’t a guy get a break?

Then she was kissing him, pulling him closer to her. He responded as if there was nothing wrong in the world, as if everything were peachy keen and perfect. He brought his hand up to her neck, and kissing her right back. When she pulled away, looking into his eyes, he smiled at her. ”We can do it. As long as we’re together.” He whispered, then pulled her forward and kissed her again, getting lost in the feel of Annabeth in his arms.
