Lunchtime [Juton]

The mess hall was full and bustling with noise as Everett scanned the area for a seat. It felt a bit weird to be eating somewhere that wasn't Camp Jupiter, but he was hungry so it didn't really matter. He noticed an empty spot at the end of one of the tables and hurried over to it, unceremoniously sitting down. Almost immediately he realized that he hadn’t asked if the spot was free. He debated whether he should or not for a second or two. If he didn’t he was rude but if he did and the spot was taken he’d have nowhere to sit. And he really wanted to eat. Right now. In the end he sighed and looked at the person opposite of him, asking:
“Sorry, was this spot taken?”

Juton had done a lot that day and was glad he was eating lunch now. He had long since walked in grabbed him something to eat and sat down. Of course after offering some of his food to his father Apollo. Now he sat quietly, the Apollo cabin counselor, sat eating quietly. He hadn't much noticed that someone he had yet to meet sat down just across from him. Though it wasn't long before he heard the question of that was the spot taken. Juton looked to the new person. He took his words into mind and looked to the table. He counted those who were in his Cabin to make sure all of them were here. Once he was sure he looked to the new guy. "Yeah, no, the spot isn't taken you can sit there " Juton said calmly. He then said said " by the way my name is Juton Bae"He said introducing himself.

Everett, who had already started eating, had some chewing to do before he could reply. The urge to eat as much as he could whenever he had the chance was hard to look past even if he hadn’t had to worry about food since he found Camp Jupiter, and he was truly hungry today anyway. When he swallowed his mouthful he extended his arm for a handshake, an almost sheepish smile on his lips.
“Everett Crowe. Sorry about that, I’m hungry and in all honesty the food here is pretty good.” After he’d had a few more bites he added:
“So you’re one of the Greek gods’ kids then? I know you eat together with your cabin, but I don’t know which cabin’s table this is.”

Juton watched quietly as he ate. He was quiet for a long moment. As he waited for a response the son of Apollo glanced around quietly. He looked to the other tables silently each one seated kids of the appropriate cabin. His was Apollo ' s cabin. Silently he looked up to hear that the guys name was Everett Crowe. He smiled a sort of welcoming smile." Well welcome Everett and it is perfectly fine.and I know it is good."He said. Juton then took another bit himself before he said"yeah I am. My godly parent is Apollo. Also that is true and your actually sitting at the Apollo cabin table" Juton said.

Everett gave a laugh when he heard what table he had picked. It would seem he had sat down at a table full of his Greek siblings.
“Seems like I picked just the right seat then. Apollo’s my father too. Well, his Roman self that is. I guess that makes us related in some way.” he grinned, before turning his attention to the rest of his food. He had managed to wolf most of it down in what to him seemed like no time at all and he wanted to savor what was left.

Once he was done eating he realized he had a problem; he was thirsty and he hadn’t seen any drinks around. He looked at the cup in front of him questioningly, before looking over at the guy in front of him.
“Where exactly are you supposed to get something to drink?”

Juton smiled some and nodded"alright ok that's good and that would explain why I didn't know you either. "Juton said calmly offering a smile. He looked to what remained on of his food on his plate and took a few more bites before it was gone. He them returned his attention to Everett so may I ask what brings you to Camp Half Blood?"Juton asked curiously. The Greek son of Apollo then stayed quiet and awaited his response. As he did he glanced once again to the other tables before he got lost in though on what he was going to do now.

At the other boy’s question Everett simply shrugged.
“Curiosity, I guess. I haven’t been at Camp Jupiter long, and when I heard there’s a Greek camp I figured that’s something I want to see.” After a moment’s pause he added a few questions of his own:
“How about you then, how long have you been at Camp Half-Blood? Have you visited Camp Jupiter before?”

As he waited for Juton to answer he looked around, finding his eyes kept going back to where people were still putting some of their food into the fire for the gods before finding their spots among the tables. He’d done it himself as well of course, but he still found it slightly odd. Then again he wasn’t Greek, so his feeling on the matter didn’t really make any difference. It was probably one of those things that took some getting used to anyway.

"Ah ok I've heard that once or twice before " Juton said giving a slight grin."so may I ask what do you think of Camp Half Blood?" Juton asked. He was curious as to what he thought about the camp. Juton then was quiet for a moment at his question. How long was Juton at camp. After a moment of thinking he then said"well I've been here for a while...to be honest I'm not sure exactly how long " He said in a bit of embarrassment at his forgetfulness."Hmm no I have yet to visit Camp Jupiter may I ask what is it like there?"He asked.

Everett contemplated the question for a while, before answering:
”It’s different, but good. A lot of things strike me as weird, but everything’s been fun. Coming here feels a bit like going on vacation. Or being on leave, maybe, but with far less alcohol involved.” When he realized what he’d said, he gave the other boy a sheepish smile. He hadn’t really had the intention of saying the last part, it just kind of came out without his approval. But the fact was that leave was a far more familiar and recent concept to him than vacation, and those memories were all good. Especially on days like this, when the other memories from his time in the army didn’t have such a strong grip on him.

“What Camp Jupiter is like?” he said, eyebrows furrowed, “I don’t really know how to explain it so that you’d understand it the way I do. It’s stricter, perhaps. We’re not divided by godly heritage, but by skill and such. It’s home, I guess. It reminds me somewhat of how things were before I knew anything about demigods and all that.”
