Nora was stood barefoot, water to her ankles, looking out at the sea. Her shoes and socks were abandoned in the sand, a bit further from the water. It was a beautiful day, if somewhat chilly. Not that the chill bothered her, on the contrary she enjoyed it. It meant there weren’t that many people on the beach, which in its turn meant that it wasn’t likely anyone would disturb her. Relaxation was what she had come here looking for, a break from the duties and activities of the day. She’d found just that and was rather enjoying herself. The sand felt good under her bare feet and the view was beautiful. The sounds from camp were distant, the sea drowning most of them out.

Some place flat and isolated, that was what Minya was looking for. She had been at Camp Half-Blood, preparing for a game of Capture the Flag. That meant she had been around people, so many people. That in and of itself wouldn't be that bad, except for half of them were Greeks. She knew they were on the same side now, and she was okay with that. But they were so unorganized! How on earth was she supposed to find anything when nothing had an order? How did they even get anything done, any training, any meetings, when no one could even find their way around the camp!
She had met Percy Jackson and thought he was strange, he was unorganized but it was more of a charming unorganization than a frustrating one. But maybe that was because now he was a little bit Roman too. Or maybe because he was like an isolated event. Of course not every one of the Greeks would be like that. She was wrong. Nearly every one that she had met, with the exception of one interesting girl in the mess hall, had been so different.
And then there was the way they trained and fought. How they ever managed to get as far as they did in defeating Gaea was a mystery to her. If she was here, she would never get anything done.
Which led her here, to the empty beach. She didn't like displaying her power, she thought of it more like her secret power than something to be used for every day use. But every once in a while she would feel the speed build up inside of her, and she had to let it loose. She bent down pressing her finger tips into the ground and setting her feet in a running stance. She looked up, staring at the horizon. The Speed was more instant now that she was actually going to let it loose. She took a long, deep breath. At the end of the exhale she took off like a bullet. The wind whipped her hair behind her and streamed past her face. Her Speed increased, sending her flying across the beach.
She was soaring over the sand with each foot fall, her arms pumping at her sides. She glanced at the ocean as she passed.
Her feet fumbled as she saw a person. She rolled head over heels in the sand, coming to a stop at the edge of the surf. If she had just kept running, the person (she could tell they were a girl now) wouldn't have seen her. But now... it was painfully obvious that Minya was there, covered in sand , and forcing her rising blush down. She would not be embarrassed, no matter her situation, she knew she looked fabulous, and she would act like it.
