A Little Sisterly Help (Thalia)

Metae was sitting about the Artemis cabin for a bit one morning. She was sitting there for a little bit thinking about what to do. She then decided to try and learn to use her bow that day. She hadn't really known how to use it and hadn't bothered to try but she thought she would today. Slowly she got off her bed and exited the cabin. She wore a silver shirt that had what looked like a stag on it and she had debated on her ripped jacket bit didn't wear it. She wore some dark grey Jean shorts. Quietly she headed for the Arena. Upon arriving she summoned her bow and arrows. She tried a few times but as a few minutes went on she didn't get any better. She pulled another arrow out and tried to shoot the arrow though she didn't know what she did wrong instead of ginger forward it went back. She sighed and stopped for a moment though she heart someone approach and she turned to look to who it was.

Thalia had started her day with a big breakfast with four pancakes spread with peanut butter and syrup smothered all over the top along with a side of toast and seven strips of bacon. (Thalia loves her bacon). The girl walked out of the mess hall with her black high top converse and leather jacket on and a big smile on her face. This daughter of Zeus was going to have a great day and she knew nothing could get in her way. Thalia had been walking past the arena when she saw who she thought was Metae Winchester struggling with an all too familiar silver bow. Rather than just walking by, she decided to give the hunter a bit of sisterly help. Thalia had just blocked an arrow that was heading straight for her face. "Man, She really needs some help..." Thalia thought.  Carefully, she inched her way closer to Metae. "Hey, would you like some help there?" Thalia asked half smiling. Thalia tried not to laugh but the sight of her fellow hunter was quite hilarious.

Metae saw her half sister and fellow hunter. She was quiet for a long moment before she looked a bit embarrassed noticed she had caught the arrow that had flew backwards instead of forward. She then said"yeah....i...I wouldn't mind the help....I need it " she said a bit embarrassed."I'm sorry about the arrow ..."She said referring to the arrow Thalia caught. She was quiet once again. She was still quite embarrassed by the whole thing figuring she probably saw already. "So....I'm assuming you saw how terrible I was with a bow..."She said quietly for a moment.

Thalia felt kinda bad when she saw Metae was embarrassed about having trouble with her bow. "It's totally fine Metae, I was way worse with a bow when I became a hunter." The girl said with a big smile. "On my first hunt I ended up shooting another hunter in the leg. I think her name was Skye, but she was kinda super mad at me. Good thing we're immortal. Right?" Thalia just laughed. She wanted to get to know Metae better and this might just be how she does it. "Here, you kinda have your bow upside down." Thalia flipped the silver bow right side up and showed Metae where to put her hand. She then grabbed an arrow. Thalia pointed to the bottom of it. "See the notch here behind the feathers? That is where we are going to nock the arrow." Thalia explained the rest and then handed the bow back to Metae. "Here you go, now you try." Thalia gave the hunter an encouraging smile while stepping back.

Metae blinked quietly she relaxed when she said that it's totally fine. Really she thought it wasn't fine she thought She wouldn't have been completely fine with it though she just relaxed "oh ok .....and really....well at least it wasn't on a hunt that I did that...."She said smiling some."was she really?"she asked hearing about how Skye was really mad. "Yeah I guess that is a good thing " she said then blinked when Thalia said her bow was upside down. She felt a little more embarrassed but tried to brush it off. She watched as she showed her how to use it properly. She nodded and slowly she took and arrow and did as Thalia had showed her. Slowly she pulled the arrow back and watched it fly towards the target even though it didn't hit dead center and hit near it she was still happy she managed to hit the target at all. She smiled some and looked to Thalia"thanks...a bunch...I'm sure I wouldn't have figured out that I had it upside down...it's a little embarrassing I've never really had much help before..."She said

Thalia had no idea why she was so happy today but once she saw Metae hit that target Thalia ran up to give Metae a hug. "That was AWESOME Metae! Great job." Thalia exclaimed. Metae thanked her and Thalia said, "No problem! You just needed some help before you could figure out how good you are. You shouldn't be embarrassed either. Everyone needs help one time or another in their life." Thalia was just happy she could help. "For all I know, you could even help me out with something." Thalia then looked down at her shoes. She almost walked away when she thought she heard Metae say something.

Metae blinked a bit surprised when Thalia had hugged her. She hadn't had much contact like that since she lost her family but she pushed the though away and hugged back keeping her smile."I never knew I was any good a archery to be honest...."She said."Though I'll keep practicing to get better at it " she said smiling some."Yeah that's true.....and I can help you too " She said noticing her look down at her shoes. She blinked watching her start to walk off so as she thought about it she said " wait I can help you....if you can tell me what you need help with...if mean i..don't really know you all that well...and ND I wouldn't mind trying to get to know you as well as help you with anything Metae spoke as she made her bow and arrows vanish and she went over to Thalia.

Thalia thought it was super nice of Metae to offer help to her but Thalia didn't really need help. "That's really nice of you Metae, but I don't think I have anything for you to help me with. Maybe we could just spend time together." Thalia thought maybe we could go to the climbing wall or the beach. She didn't know for sure if Metae would really like that though...."What do you like to do for fun around here at camp?" She seemed like a low key kind of girl, so maybe the climbing wall wouldn't be fun for her, plus it is a bit hard to talk while dodging lava and occasional boulders. It has been a cloudy day and the beach would probably be better on a sunny day. Thalia just thought more and more until Metae responded.

Metae blinked and frowned a bit"really...you don't have a fear or anything to get over?"she asked before she shrugged and smiled some playing it off simply"ok..sure I guess we could do something together " she said. She thought for a moment. She knew it was way too cloudy for the beach and she didn't prefer going to the climbing wall. The arts and craft building didn't really appeal to her at the moment and she rather enjoyed her time at the stables so she thought the stables would be a good place to go."we could go to the Stables " she said smiling some.

Oh crap. Thalia didn't even think about the stables. Maybe they would just brush the Pegasi out or ride them for a bit. She hoped that Metae wouldn't figure out that Thalia wasn't super fond of heights. "Why couldn't she be the kind of a hunter that wanted to go slay hellhounds in the forest, have a burger eating contest in the mess hall or even making birthday cards in the arts building?" Thalia thought. Only Thalia's closet friends knew of her fear of heights and riding a Pegasi is not her piece of cake. Thalia couldn't back down now though. "Oh, the stables....That sounds...Fantastic. What do you want to do at the sttables?" Thalia managed to get out. Great, Metae didn't realize that she might actually help Thalia with a fear and she wasn't about to tell Metae that as a daughter of Zeus, she was afraid of heights. Man...This might just get interesting.

Metae had not known about Thalia ' s fear of heights. She blinked and noticed her slight hesitation " ok "she said smiling some as she though for a moment."Well we can brush the horses and maybe take them for a ride out in the sky... I haven't visited Thundress in the past few days I've been meaning to take the pegasus out for a little flying "she said smiling some. "Maybe after we can catch something to eat " She said smiling a little. Little did Metae know she would be helping her half sister with her fear of heights. She smiled then started to walk out of the arena
