A trip to the lake [Damian and Metae]

Thalia had always enjoyed walking around camp. She had yet to visit the lake though since she had recently arrived. Artemis sent her to help unite the camps and maybe recruit new members. Thalia knew in the back of her mind that Artemis really thought that Thalia deserved a break. She decided to try canoeing on the lake. To some campers this sounded crazy, due to the fact that many Naiads made a home there. Thalia made sure to take of all jewelry just in case one might just decide that she wants to drag Thalia to the bottom of the lake to get it. They are MOSTLY friendly though. If there were any problems she wouldn't feel bad at all to zap that monster of a nymph all the way to Tartarus. Maybe one of her old friends, or a hunter would wander by and go with her. Thalia figured she might as well try to make new friends as well. She grabbed a blue towel out of a cabinet in the cabin and skipped out the door.

Metae,who was one of the most recent recruits to the Hunters of Artemis. In fact she was the last newest recruit as of the moment . The dirty blonde haired girl had watched Thalia leave the cabin. She was quiet as she had watched before she had got off her bed and walked from the cabin. She had to stop for a moment wondering where the daughter of Zeus and newly recruited hunter of Artemis would go. She was quiet she hadn't yet went to the Lake and thought why not. She quietly made her way to the lake dressed in her casual attire. Soon she showed up at the lake and looked around briefly.

Anyone who spent more than an hour in Damian's company could tell you various stunts weren't out of the ordinary, so it would come as no surprise when they spotted him enlisting the Naiads' help in setting up smaller, waterbuoy like targets along the lake's surface. The idea was canoe archery, a concept he'd grown interested in a few years back and has since made it a regular thing to practice. A few other campers have shown some interest by this point since it made canoeing as a whole a bit more interesting and challenging than simply to paddle around. Who knew, in time it could pick up like the chariot races have. He couldn't deny the appeal of an imagined canoe race with a few elements borrowed from the chariot designs meant to sabotage the other teams, especially if the naiads helped make some waves to make it more difficult.

Right now though, all he needed was a partner. For all the potential, just like during chariot races you couldn't steer and fight off the other racers, with this you couldn't paddle and shoot at the same time. Unless the children of Hephaestus tricked out self-paddling canoes that was; he had to speak to them about that later. Standing at the edge of the lake next to his already waiting canoe dressed in jeans and the token camp half blood t-shirt, his celestial bronze bow and a full quiver strapped to his back, Damian was just about to leave in search of one now that all the preparations were done, but it seemed fate beat him to it. Two girls approached the lake, one of them very familiar to everyone who didn't have their head burried in sand the last couple of years. He had known Thalia Grace has shown up at camp, though he didn't imagined she would particularly favor water as a child of Zeus. Maybe the big three kids were branching out.

The other blonde girl seemed to share a similar aura to Thalia, making him wager she was a hunter as well. Perhaps if more showed up, they would get their annual campers against hunters capture the flag game. He could hope. Putting his best face forward, Dam greeted the pair. This could be very, very fun. "Hello. I haven't seen the hunters at camp for a while. I guess with the adventures you lead on monster hunts, that's probably to be expected. But I have you at a disadvantage here with knowing who you are. I'm Damian, one of the more recent peace time counselors." He didn't attempt the whole handshake thing introducing himself, knowing some of them were particularly prickly about boys touching them at all. It wouldn't do to provoke them in that way.

Halfway to the lake, Thalia had realized that she had a shadow. Metae Winchester, Thalia's half sister and fellow hunter was skipping along behind Thalia. Metae was nice and Thalia didn't know her super well but if Metae was heading to the lake, she would have meet her there. She hurried off to the mess hall to get a snack. Thalia needed a burger and some chocolate chip cookies to hold her over before lunch. A few random campers that Thalia didn't know waved and smiled at her while Thalia was in line. It didn't take long until she scampered back to the trail to the lake. She had just walked up to Metae and was about to make conversation when she saw this kid walking up the them. He had started to introduce himself to them and Thalia hoped that Metae wouldn't get nervous about a boy talking to them. (Being Hunters). The vow we made to Artemis wasn't super clear on how we should take a situation like this. Oh well, it's not like the vow said we couldn't be friends. Metae can figure it out. Thalia had locked eyes with this kid but wasn't really there; she was now wondering why there were naiads moving buoys with red and white targets on the front. This looked like this might be fun, whatever this is. Thalia was super glad her bow can appear and disappear when needed. When the daughter of Zeus finally snapped back into reality, she realized the boy had stopped talking. "Hi, I'm Thalia Grace." Thalia stuck out her arm with the intent of shaking hands with the boy. "What is going on around here? Is it some sort of water archery? It looks fantastic." Thalia really was interested and also wanted to know how this kid, I'm probably guessing son of Aphrodite, got these naiads to help out. Annabeth had told her a bit about Piper's power which she was able to persuade people and monsters to do what she wanted. Maybe this kid had the same power. "What's your name again?" Thalia suddenly felt bad for spacing out.

Metae stopped when she got to the Lake. Though she blinked noticing a guy coming their way.She didn't say anything and instead of speaking she looked to the Naiads who seemed to be moving what looked like targets around. She for a moment started to wonder why. Then she figured it was for some sort of Archery lesson or something,what she didn't know. Quietly she looked to Thalia then to the guy as he said his name was Damian. Silent the whole time,she was still not sure how to act around boys. She though had acted fine when she had met Percy and they had a friendly pegasus race .Though even still ,she wasn't exactly sure how to act and she knew guys were all different she learned that from her past and also from when she hanged out with Percy at the stables.

Even still she watched and listened as Thalia spoke to Damian. She wanted to know how to act and what better way then to watch at first. After a moment she then introduced herself just a bit quietly which showed she was a bit unsure because usually she wouldn't speak so quietly. "And I'm Metae " she said. After that she was kind of quiet once again.
