The sun was starting to go down as Mairin made it to the beach. She love to walk along the waters at night, dipping her feet in the cool clea water. Mairin didn't leave the camp often but the beach had always felt like home to her. It was the most beautiful beach in the world. She had practically grown up here and wouldn't trade this view for anything in the world. The beach wasn't normally crowded this time of day with the sun going down it was getting chilly and most people didn't like the cold water. Mairin often came here at the end of a long day and it had been a stressful one, all she had wanted to do all day was relax and listen to the soothing sound of the waves.

Damian didn't mind the growing lack of sunlight as he sat on the beach, allowing the cool waves to wash over his currently bare feet. The sandy shore had been one of his favorite spots at camp since the moment he set foot in it, often coming here after a day filled with the bustle of activities before he cleared out to sleep. Sometimes this included his most recent romantic interest and associated fun in the clear blue water, but only having arrived earlier that day he had yet to find a good candidate for his next future ex. A situation that wasn't bound to last very long. Despite their obvious war happy ways—or maybe exactly because of the excitement of working around them—he felt like following in Piper's footsteps and trying out romance with a Roman, though unlike his half sister or his romantically hopeless best friend, he had no intentions of looking for true love. What he wanted was a distraction for a part of the summer. It was funny how just vaguely thinking about James and his amusing plight seemed to have summoned exactly the source of it. Soft footsteps approaching over soft sand made the son of Aphrodite lazily glance away from the picturesque sunset, grinning when he was met with a sight of Mairin approaching like a water nymph in the last rays of sun, hair softly swaying with the breeze. He waited until she closed the distance to start a conversation, casually looking over her to pick out all the small differences from when he last saw her in person the summer before. "Don't tell me. You heard I arrived and you came to scold me for not stopping by to catch up yet?" He teased in good humor, motioning for her to sit down next to him. "For that you have my deepest apologies, but I had to devote time to my other half. Living apart from James for most of the year always makes the reunion last hours," Dam continued, the mirth in his eyes making it clear he was joking. Mairin had barely been on the beach when she heard a voice, at first she was kinda annoyed until she turned to see who it was. Abig smile spread across her face "Damian, I heard you were back." She walked over and sat down next to him as he motioned. She laughed as he brought up James he was very sly at always bringing him into the conversation. "Well you and James are best friends it would make sense that you missed each other." She smiled and laughed at herself,"I thought the two of you would be glued at the hip for the next couple of days!" Mairin loved hanging out with Damian he was sweet to her and she didn't always understand why but she was glad to have him as a friend. They had been at Camp almost the same amount of time and over the years they discovered they had more in common then she would have thought. They loved riding horses and both spent quite a bit of time on the beach though Damian wasn't always here alone.
