Accalia asked one of her cohort members, Vira to join her for training in the woods. Accalia always chose somewhere with trees because that was how she fought. Using chlorokinesis, Accalia prepared for her partner to arrive by practicing shaping the various branches around her into swords, bows, knives, staffs, etc. This was how she fought. She had her usual bow and quiver of arrows, of course, but she liked to use what was around her and was known for turning entire wooden glens into trees bearing weapon.
Her sister, her sister who had betrayed the legion, taught her some of that.
She was surrounded by various plant weapons and then snapped her finger, them all vanishing back as Vira arrived.

Vira wasn't just one to train her Cohort as a whole. She liked the personal touch. She liked getting to know all of her Cohort- their thoughts, their feelings, their strengths and weaknesses. In Camp Jupiter, Cohorts were more like a family than even half-siblings were at times. The Second Cohort was who she lived with, ate with, slept in the same area with. If they were her family, then it wasn't just her job as a Centurion to train them, but also her job to be a big sister in a sense. Therefore, she had no issue in going out to train with Accalia that day. In fact, she looked forward to it. Vira gave a small smile as she saw where Accalia was training. The girl was a Daughter of Ceres, so it made a lot of sense to be in an environment with plates. It played to her strengths and would hopefully mask whatever weaknesses she had. Time would tell there. Clad in her armor, she walked regally into the woods towards the other girl. Her battle ability made her sense that everything wasn't as it seemed. That was good. Accalia was ready for her... and she did love surprises. "Accalia," she said, calling the girl by her first name since it was just the two of this. "You seem to be quite ready for this little exercise." She then drew her sword, a sword given to her by a mysterious benefactor long before she came to camp. She always had an idea as to who it was, as it was Imperial Gold after all, but could not confirm the notion. "I'm ready as well."ACCALIA PHILLIPS

Vira was clad in armor, unsurprisingly, and Accalia was simply wearing a leather breastplate and arm bands for her bow. Vira was a sight to see, that was for sure. A good one, too. She was like the goddess Bellona herself in a lot of ways, kind of like Reyna was. Accalia nodded in greeting, "Vira, a pleasure." Vira was the Centurion of her cohort and therefore Accalias superior, but this moment of practice was just an unofficial thing, and therefore Accalia wouldn't feel bad about bringing her A game, or about the first name basis. "I'm ready," Cail agreed, and Viras sword was... wow. A beautiful weapon. Accalia cracked her neck from side to side and then reached a hand forward, a vine dashing into her grip and creating a sharp weapon of thorns in her hand. VIRA TAM

Vira loved to see the Demi-gods use their parents' gifts to their advantage. She wasn't proud of it, but she had almost fallen for Charmspeak before by a Venus kid, and was once blinded by an Apollo offspring. She didn't even want to think about what the Bacchus boy did to her. She knew weapons, and she knew battle, but others knew what they knew as well. It was time to see if Accalia's knowledge of plants would do the girl well. Vira watched Accalia like a cobra waiting for the right opening to strike. She looked for a moment of weakness, a moment of hesitation, a brief lowering of the defenses. Her mind took on the magic of warfare that her mother had blessed her with. And when she saw her opening, she struck. She moved swiftly and carefully, making the most of every move. This strategy had helped her win many battles, both in practice and in the field. Again though, her opponent was also the daughter of a powerful goddess. She was no fool, and would not underestimate the power of Ceres... the power of an Olympian. Still, she would be hesitant as well. She moved with the intent of a victorious opening strike. ACCALIA PHILLIPS

Vira was incredible. Her speed was astounding. When she drew closer, Haydin summoned the vine to yank upwards, hoping to dodge the blow be vaulting into the air. However she did make a big mistake. The vine ended up right in the path of Viras sword. As it was cut, Accalia fell to the ground with a loud 'thunk'. She quickly jumped up, whipping what was left of her vine-sword to swipe at Viras legs. Vira was obviously a worthy opponent, and whether or not Accalia's hit landed would determine if Accalia should strike again... or dodge the counter attack. VIRA TAM

Vira tried not to be too over-confident when she sparred or fought. Such a thing could get her killed in a real battle. However, the temptation was there when she had taken out the vine. It almost cost her as well. Scalia had made a clever move with her own weapon with the low strike and it made Vira almost lose her balance. Vira managed to steady herself though. However, in focusing on regaining her balance, she had made another mistake in leaving herself open for another strike. She tried to position herself to counter what move could have came next, but alas her defenses were not entirely unloaded. Vira Tam was a skilled warrior, a daughter of Bellona, and had more than earned her position as a Centurion. However, she was not perfect. She had flaws that others like Accalia could exploit. That was when it became her vital obligation to bounce back. ACCALIA PHILLIPS
