Markie stepped into the dance with a big smile on her face. Finally... finally she and Lux were doing something together that didn't involve him dropping by her market or her casually visiting camp just to see him. All that seemed so blasted... professional. This was a fun gathering, even if Lux wanted to call it his duty. She wasn't there on any duty though. Gods knew that she had done enough of that to prep for the dance already. She recognized some of her fruits and veggies at the buffet table. It was sort of a Bacchus/Ceres offspring thing to be able to do that. Well, that and some of the items still had the seal of her market on them. It never hurt to advertise.

Markie was wearing a purple summer gown, lined with artificial flowers and leaves. She was curious to see if her grandfather, Bacchus, was still about Camp Half-Blood as his Greek alter-ego, Dionysus. She doubted he would have a lot of time or patience to talk to her, but it might be nice to say hello and finally met him. She was mainly there for Lux, and she hoped... even if it was a slender hope... that something would spark between them. She couldn't deny it. She was still very much in love with the man.

Nine was totally going to gatecrash this party! He's been alive for such a short time now that he felt on top of the world still. He had bought some party attire from a thrift store for multiple reasons. One, they always seemed more fashionable for him as he settled into a new era after having been out of things for a while and secondly, well, he wasn't exactly rich enough to afford much better. So he'd gotten a very old fashioned suit (that one he actually stole from his old house) and gotten shoes and other stuff (tophat included) before making his way back to the dance. Stealing had gotten a lot more complicated in the last centuries and he already noticed that it was getting more and more common for extra security measures like camera's to be placed. Oh the gold old days when theft was easy and losing a hand wasn't particularly uncommon.

He sighed as he glanced around the place. He was clearly out of place between all the demigods. Still, at least a few of them were out of place at such a scene. Realising he was the only person with a top hat he rolled his eyes and put it on a hat stand. Why have a hat stand when nobody has enough style to wear a hat? He made his way over to a pair that looked... well not too chummy. He smiled as he stood near them. "My Lady. Good Sir." He bowed slightly. "I'd tip my hat but it seems they have gone out of style of late." He said a bit grumbly. Why did fashion have to change so much? He adjusted his tie slightly. "Tell me, how common are chaperones these days? I remember them starting to go out of fashion prior to my demise but I don't see any at this party that seem to have that function? Are we finally done with that?" He spoke as if making small talk but he was very obviously still quite out of place in the current day at time. Maybe it would get better as he got the hang of it again. He'd been quite a few years older prior to his death and being nineteen again was something to get used to. Not to mention he hadn't had time yet to check up on his two children. The current year suggested they might currently be reaching the age he'd been at prior to his most recent death.

"My name is Nine, by the way. Pleased to meet you young Phillip and...." Yes, he'd eavesdropped at the start of his initiation of conversation. Who was going to stop him? If they stabbed him he'd be back in a month or so anyway. Boring.

There was a scientific process to determining the minimum polite amount of time to spend at a party before it was acceptable to leave, and Zoe was running the numbers in her head. There were a lot of factors that had to be appropriately considered – dancing meant it was alright to leave sooner, and if she grabbed a drink it would keep her busy for a while. One good conversation would probably be enough, given she did one of the other activities as well.

Still, even after resignedly accepting that she would have to socialize, she wasn’t ready for the conversation when it came. There was an awkward pause between this boy’s (Phillip, he had said) opening introduction and her response because – wow, he sure had a lot of guts to just approach a random stranger, no? It didn’t help that nobody had brought their weapons to the dance…Zoe usually didn’t remember names or faces well, and she found a demigod’s weapon to be more recognizable. “Um, yeah, I guess I spend most of my time in the forges. But I don’t really recognize you.” She cringed internally at the bluntness of her response, and her face flushed as Phillip (correctly) guessed that she wasn’t exactly having the best time.

Zoe scrambled for something else to say, but the arrival of another stranger saved her from making the situation worse. Yeah, she was definitely done after this – she was rapidly hitting her social quota for the night. The new guy (Nine, really?) was so over-the-top that Zoe’s eyes widened and it took everything in her not to stare shamelessly at his act. “Um…Zoe. I guess it’s nice to meet you both, despite the…circumstances,” she mumbled as an introduction. Her hand came up to her forehead at what would undoubtedly become a headache soon. “And a chaperone wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world right now. Someone to tell me I can leave. And did you say your demise? Are you trying to be funny?”

He could tell this woman was still a little uncomfortable here at the party. She made it quite obvious she had no idea who he was. Which made sense because even though Phillip liked to train, he was not a big fan of the war games and only participated if he had to. He felt like he had an unfair advantage. This may or may not be true. But it was how he felt deep down. But Phillip did not usually go to the forges because he did not really care what weapon he used. He would find one and use it.

While talking to this beautiful woman at this part a man came up and introduced himself. This man looked like he jumped out of the screen of a historical, Victorian based movie. He introduced himself as Nine. What kind of name is Nine? This puzzled Phillip but he turned to Zoe who introduced herself to both of us. “Well Hello Zoe it is a pleasure to finally meet you. And circumstances could be worse. This party will probably be boring but you never know what will happen. That is the fun of life you never know what lucky circumstances you might find yourself in. It is a party of Aphrodite, who knows you might have some fun.” He then turns to this fellow you looked no older than 20 or so. “Hello, Nine. The pleasure is all mine. Chaperones are still common for children. But I’m sure there are councilors around here somewhere. Is there something I can help you with? Nine, that is an interesting name. I do not think I have seen you around camp. Are you just around for the party?”

He looked at this man for a few seconds and after a short pause said “you said demise. I also have some questions about that.”

The idea he was trying to be funny was simply astounding. What was funny about his demise? Well, apart from the fact it never seemed to stick. He always recovered from any injury he had ever experienced and that included total incineration. Quite recently even. He'd spent a lot of time dying in the world wars and had decided to join the party when they moved across the sea. Naturally his most recent death had been near the end of his career as a firefighter. He always picked the wrong jobs, didn't he? She was not appearing to be entertained either way, joke or no joke.

Then he mentioned councilors were still around and Nine looked around amused, finding the 'adult' supervisors in the crowd. They did well enough in blending in, he supposed. But Phil was accurate in his realisation that he had not yet been priviledge to meet the miracle of the world that Nine had never intended to be. He smiled politely at the other fellow. "Oh I doubt you would have seen me around these parts prior to this eve. I haven't been back a very long time yet. I do plan to stick around for longer then merely the duration of the festivities." He answered politely. But then he chuckled and turned his attention to both of them as the interest in his demise started to shape up. It tended to do that. "I would be delighted to answer more questions concerning my most recent demise and current state of being." He said with an amused grin. "Though I must admit Most find themselves sceptics in light of the incredulous nature of my ventures in life." He said, but his eyes twinkled with the slight mischief of youth that had once again returned to his bones.

He then sighed with slight extravaganza and smiled. "Well, I suppose this most recent life of mine began somewhere in the middle of the second world war. Or I suppose it was around the middle. I sort of died a lot in those times so I stopped tracking time. It's bothersome when you have to start counting every couple of months. Either way, I managed to survive the rest of the war and moved to the States with the liberators. I got settled in, had a wonderful wife and a beautiful child and got myself a job as firefighter. It went well rather long and I got to see my little girl age somewhat. She was around the age of thirteen, if memory serves me right, when I was called into a work situation of quite some gravity. I managed to save a few lives prior to succumbing to the smoke. My coworkers managed to pull me out but I departed not soon after. Then of course a mere few days ago I woke once again to find that this time it was several decades since my last breath and I decided to pay homage to my Patron Hermes and of course the Lady Aphrodite." He said and shrugged. "Any further questions on the matter? While I don't appreciate it, I'm willing to die to prove my point, although it'll take me a week or two if you just stab me. If you burn me to a crisp you are more likely to die than see me again after I've recovered from the injury." He shrugged once again as he waited for them to comment.

He looks at nine and says ”Woah there, that seems a little extreme. I believe you because why would you need to lie. I'm sure you have a lot of great stories I would love to hear them sometime.” He gives a look of true concern like this guy is willing to prove his power. What a strange person Phillip thinks to himself. This man is also very interesting to Phillip. Not in the usual way though not like a mark. ”I get people not believing your power or belittling it. I get that all the time.”. He looks at Nine wondering what else this crazy person was going to say but he continues ”it seems like you are a little behind on the times but you will hopefully catch up quickly. I am glad you are going to stick around. I am sure you will find plenty of things to do to help fill your time and hopefully stay alive. I would avoid Ares house though I’m sure that has not changed throughout history.”

Collins wasn’t going to go to the dance, she was always bullied and it was just annoying. Most of the time Collins would tell the campers to go and she’d be there later but she’d find something else to do. She however was asked by her now girlfriend to go to the dance. Her girlfriend daughter of Notus was adorable in her red sun dress that was amazing. Slowly she bit her lip as she looked over at the mirror. Her dress was a simple frosty blue with a snowflake makeup done. She had black tie sandals that went up her calves.



She held the woman’s hand as she walked with her from their cabin into the dance. Taking in everything she shook her head a little bit thinking about it all. “ Wow…. This is amazing. You are beautiful.” She said as she smiled a little bit. It took her only a moment to move over and whispered. “ You look adorable.” She said to the woman as she thought about it all. Colins smiled a little bit excited that people saw her with Sunny Lee. A lot of nasty looks thrown in her direction but for the first time she felt safe enough to just breath.

Harley was definitely her father and mother’s child, Harley had spent a lot of time preparing for the future she knew was destined for her. Her father seemed to know she was someone to watch for. He’d selected her and she needed to be ready for it. So here she was standing in her cabin, she’d been late with her offering to Vulcan because she’d made him a perfectly balanced knife. She had spent the night in the forge getting used to the heat, she had read that children of her father were actually very tolerant to heat and molten things. So she worked hard to start enhancing her tolerance.



Harley was in a charcoal dress with and open back, and her sides had windows and slits. The dress went to her knees and was a bit flowy. Harley had matching sandals as the stopped right before her knees. She walked with her girlfriend hand and hand into her mother’s party. She looked over at her and smiled a little bit and kissed the woman’s hand in return to her kiss. She looked over at the woman lightly, “ Well I think your mother would be happy with the party.” She said as she bit her lip, “ You look amazing…would you want to dance?” She asked the woman.

Stacy thought Harley looked gorgeous in her black dress. Smoking hot as only a daughter of the God of Fire could. Stacy tingled when Harley kissed her. She was still taking it in. The two were girlfriends! It was like a dream come true, and not one of those horrible dreams she had been having lately. This was a beautiful dream she had ever since she met Harley.

"Yeah," she said about her Mom's dance. "I'm sure she would. I think she really, really loves when people go all out for her. You should see some of the tribute at the Temple of Venus. She gets a crazy amount of gifts from her kids." Stacy cleared her throat a bit. "And... yeah... a bunch of them are mine." She blushed a bit at that.

Harley then asked if Stacy wanted to dance and she grinned.

"Yes!" she said. "I am totally down for a dance. So, do you want to fun dance or like... romance dance? I'm good with either. I always like it when we fun dance, especially when we do the Bat-tusi." She then blushed again. "But... I really want to romance dance too." She took Harley's hand and led her to the dance floor.

Sunny Lee looked over Collins and was just blown away at how she looked. Sunny Lee felt like she was dating a princess. She blushed when Collins said she looked beautiful and adorable. She then gulped before she responded.

"And you look... you look gorgeous," she said. "I mean, that make-up and the dress. I feel like a fairy tale character who won the heart of the princess. My heart is a total flutter." She then took Collins' hands. "May I have this dance?" At the corner of her eye, Sunny Lee noticed that some of the kids from earlier had spotted the two, and were whispering things to themselves. Sunny Lee would let them. She didn't care. She thought Collins was amazing, and she was in love. One day those idiots would probably be sad and lonely or at least miserable because of how they treated people. Sunny Lee pictured a life with Collins, a grand and happy life. She leaned close and smiled at her date.

"Don't worry about all of them," she said. "You're with me, and I am going to make this night a fun and special one for both of us." She gave her girlfriend a kiss on the lips.

She smiled lightly and kissed the woman lightly as she walked with her into the room. No one dare linger to long as the metal bangle on her arm sort of signified she could hurt someone if they pissed her off. Slowly Harley walked over at the woman and then she smiled a little bit. “ She’s the goddess of love, she is loved by all but even more so by her children. Especially by the cutest girl I’ve ever seen. ” She said lightly as she smiled and wrapped her arm around the blonde. She chuckled a little bit as she walked with Stacey farther into the home.



Stacey was clearly the cutest woman in the world and she moved in and kissed her lightly. “ Well lucky for both of us, I can do that all and I can dance however you want. ” Slowly she ran a hand through her hair and then she looked at the woman. And then shrugged her shoulders. “ Let’s just go dance on however we need. So lets go enjoy some time together. ” She moved out to the dance floor and spun the woman around her and then smiled. Harley wanted her girl to have the best night.

Collins was exactly where she needed to be. She felt herself slowly molding and then she smiled a bit as she looked at the girl that had done wonders for her in a short time. She gave her a reason to dress up and she gave her a reason to be here. Collins finally felt seen and it was amazing. She looked over at the woman and blushed a deep red as she heard her girlfriend. She thought she was a princess, it only made her smile a little bit. “ As long as you like it…” She said to the woman and walked with her a little bit. <p>



She ran a hand over the other girls eyes. “ I have you and, you make me feel really good. Though I don’t think I’m of princess caliber. You though, you are so beautiful in your red dress.” She bit her lower lip lightly as she was pulled out over and then she smiled as she walked out to the dance floor. She stopped a moment and kissed her girlfriend and then slowly smiled a little bit at the woman. “ You are really amazing. ” She said as she started to dance a little bit.

Sometimes Stacy wondered if Venus was loved by all. It seemed she would be given who she was, but there was a lot to love that wasn't perfect, like jealousy and heart-break. She had heard once that the offspring of Venus were meant to romance someone, and then break their heart. What a horrible thing to do! She vowed to never hurt Harley. Heck, she was break anyone who did try to hurt Harley. She would have done the same even when they were just friends.

"Well all I know right now is that I love you," she said before she kissed her girlfriend.

She grinned about the two dancing. It was a good idea just to wing it, since Harley said she was good at various dances. Stacy was too.

"Okay, we'll just go out there and go nuts!" she said. "Give these people something to stare at."

Stacy decided to go goofy with her dancing, at least at first. The song was a fast song, so it made sense. She knew she was dancing like a goofball, but she hoped that she would make Harley laugh in the process. She loved hearing Harley's laugh. It was absolutely beautiful.

It was a fast dance, but Sunny Lee still held Collins close. She just wanted to hold the woman. She was so very much in love, and the atmosphere had gotten to her. When Collins said she wasn't princess caliber, Sunny Lee smiled and kissed her.

"Well, you know how a lot of the newer Disney movies are," she said. "Not every princess is like the traditional ones. I don't want either you or I to be traditional. I want us to stand out and be special. You're special to me, and that makes you a true princess. Thank you for giving me a chance that day. I know our meeting had odd circumstances, and I wouldn't have blamed you for walking away. Just know I would have followed, and I would have still tried to make you feel better." She then kissed Collins again. "I know that you make me feel better every time I see you. You're the first person I want to see in the morning, and the last person I want to see before I go to bed. I love you, Collins." The next song was a slow one, and Sunny Lee closed her eyes as she swayed with her girlfriend.

Collins was in aw of how in only a very small time Sunny Lee had gotten her to melt even just a little bit. It was a weird feeling for her to know that even as she stood there in time she laughed a little bit then she ran a hand through her dark hair she was beautiful and it was crazy. So she slowly followed the woman with her and she slowly moved over and they got onto the dance floor where they started ot dance slowly and it was really nice. She felt herself relax in the woman’s arms.



Collins smiled a little bit and then looked over at the woman. “ Well i didn’t think that you wanted to follow me… But I sort of like the idea that you may have followed me.” She said as she looked over at the woman and then she moved over and then she cleared her throat a little bit and then she said. “ I love you too Sunny Lee. You are my perfect opposite. I really never thought I could feel so at ease with another person until I met you.” She said lightly and then shrugged her shoulders a little bit.
