Masin had always felt very close to her father, even though they had spoken maybe twice. She felt as if she, unlike most of her siblings, embodied the most important aspects that he stood for. Law, Justice and Order. Her siblings were so involved in flying, making storm clouds or doing other sky and weather related things. Somebody had to represent, right? Granted, she wasn't the only one who had inherited that side of her fathers personality, but she had been the one to accept it the most whole-heartedly, and the most ruthlessly.
She didn't have too much on her plate today, which was nice for her. She had some cabin assignments to write up, some meetings to attend and some people to question-- but that was all in a days work. The work day was half-way over about now and Masin was in the Mess Hall preparing to chow down on a delectable feast of a low-fat yogurt, a veggie and hummus sandwich, and an iced tea. She pulled the ripest, juiciest tomato from her sandwich in order to make an offering to her father. "Daddy, please accept this offering," she said with a pleasant little smile towards the skies as she dropped the tomato into the fire.

Minya never understood why the greeks worshiped their gods by giving them parts of their food. If you really wanted to show respect to your godly parent, do an act that would make them proud. That is what she chose to do. But when in Rome do as the Romans... wait. She stepped up to the fire and pushed in a second roll she had gotten. "Here you go." she said with only a hint of sarcasm in her voice. She was standing next to a girl who seemed to take this whole thing way to seriously. She was smiling up at the sky as she dropped in a delicious looking tomato. Minya pursed her lips.

Masin heard an ungrateful tone of voice and slightly turn her head toward it, seeing a girl she didn't recognize. That could only mean two things. The girl was new, or the girl was a Roman. Masin raised an eyebrow at the girls pursed lips. "Tell me," Masin started, turning away from the fire ready to find a table, "does your Godly prayer always sound like that?" she didn't wait for an answer as she moved forward, gesturing a little as if to give an invitation to the inexperienced little camper.
Who was, even though Masin didn't know it, quite a few years older than her.

That girl, the one who took the whole wasting food into the campfire thing too seriously, was speaking to her. Minya looked at the girl in disbelief at her tone. If a new recruit has spoken to her like that they would be on toilet duty for a week.
"Excuse me? Are you speaking to me?" she said in slight disbelief, not following the girls beckoning finger. This girl would be in a world of hurt if she continued on her current path. Minya may have quite a bit of patience, but her tolerance for rudeness was... actually zero.

Masin whipped around as the girl openly sasses her right back. This was not something that Masin was used to. She raised an eyebrow at her. "I was, actually. Do you have a problem with that, Roman?," yes, Masin wasn't the biggest fan of their new brothers and sisters in arms. The Romans were just so.. Roman. She didn't know how any Greek could stand the lot of them.
Even though she did see the upsides to having them as allies, it was still taking a lot of adjusting on Masins part. After all, she was a wholehearted daughter of Zeus. Not Jupiter.

This Greek was treading a dangerous path. "The only problem I have is with apparent lack of tolerance for someone who thinks different than you." She narrowed her eyes at this girl. That wasn't the only part of this girl she had a problem with, but it was the first thing that came to her mind. She tended to avoid verbal confrontation, preferring to dart out of the way and swipe something from behind. That didn't mean she couldn't find retorts or whatever, but it sometimes took her longer to think of something truly genius.

Awe, the tolerance lecture. As if Masin hadn't heard that sort of thing before. "I'm not going to deny the truth of that," Masin replied, her tone completely shameless, "but does your Olympian heritage really deserve such a careless offering? They gave you life, you know," what a silly little argument, but Masin really felt strongly about people paying homage to their Godly parent. What, did they just think they could use their god-given gifts and not be grateful for it? The idea was entirely barbaric.
"Either way," she continued, "this is Camp Half-Blood, and here we actually respect our lineage."

This girl really wanted to pick a fight. Well, Minya was fine with a fight. She stepped closer to the girl, only half an arms-length away. She was wearing a pretty necklace, it was much prettier up close. "You, princess, are welcome to worship your godly parent however you see fit. I'll worship mine, my way."She stepped around the girl, her hand whipping up and undoing the latch on the necklace. With a flourish of her other hand, she stepped around her on the other side, catching the necklace as it fell. "Using the talents that my father gave me to benefit those around me." she gave a mocking bow.

Princess? Interesting choice of words, but not far off, actually. Masin was raised in the Upper East Side, after all. The girl took her necklace so fast that Masin didn't even have time to blink. As the girl bowed, exclaiming that using her fathers talents was her chosen way of respecting him, Masin raised an eyebrow. "Mercury, eh? Impressive. Keep the necklace," Masin lifted a hand, and a jolt of electricity shot from it, sending a current through the necklace that would send a little buzz through the Romans fingers. "I can respect a girl who uses her God-Given abilities."

Minya dropped the necklace as it shocked her violently. She didn't let the disdain show on her face, or the pain. Just a moment of surprise and then back to her cool face. For a moment she wasn't sure what to say. But only a moment, and not a long one at that. "And I appreciate one who can retaliate with style." She felt a small surge of respect for this girl who only a minute ago she was ready to destroy. But first impressions can often be wrong. "Minya Alevi." she said, holding out her hand in peace. This girl could be a powerful ally to have. Perhaps not a friend. But ally, yes.

As she dropped the necklace, Masin smiled bending down to pick it up as she spoke of Masins style. Masin took the girls hand, shaking it at her introduction. "Masin DeLisle. Shall we?" she held up her food and gestured to a table nearby. She made her way there, taking a seat. She turned to Minya, "so, what brings you to camp half blood, then?" it wasn't uncommon for the Romans and Greeks to cross each others camps when the situation allowed. They were, after all, their allies thanks to Percy and his little posy. Her brother Jason included. Well, sort of brother. He was a son of Jupiter, not Zeus, after all.

Minya had some respect for this girl, but enough trust to tell her everything she was doing? She didn't have enough trust to tell that to anyone. But she could give some insight. " Unity between camps. And I heard that you guys had a great version of Capture the Flag. I am just wondering if it will be better than our War Games." she mused aloud. The girls sat at a table together and Minya began to pick at her roll, putting small pieces into her mouth as they continued their conversation. The food here was good, it tasted just like she wanted it to taste.

"Ah, capture the flag," Masin gave a smile at that. She loved the game, though she sometimes felt as though it lacked the structure that it should have. "I think someone with your skills, would do well in the game. I've heard about these war games as well," she said, raising an eyebrow at the woman as she took a bite of her sandwich. Once she finished the bite she spoke again, "I would like to join you sometime. I think it would be interesting to try and combine the two games, though that isn't really in my area of expertise."

Combine the games? Minya hadn't thought of that. She would need to play Capture the Flag before she made any real judgments. But if this girl liked them... perhaps they could be interesting. The longer the two girls talked, the more Minya began to push away her harsh feelings toward the girl. True, she had angered Minya at first, but honestly that wasn't very hard to do. And she knew it. She figured if she was going to have flaws she might as well know what they are so she could use them to her advantage. "Perhaps the next multi camp gathering will be in New Rome. Then we could show you how it is done." she smirked, popping another piece of roll into her mouth.

"I think we've been talking about it, actually," she responded as Minya mused the idea of the camps meeting in New Rome. "We haven't really had a big get together over there yet. Mostly because us Greeks are really suspicious and I know that's hard to get past," she chuckled. It was true, she was probably one of the people who was the most suspicious about the Romans. Still, she could see the benefits in seeing their camp. Plus, she heard the children of Jupiter were more like her than some of her own siblings over here were, and she was interested in seeing them too.
